This is one of the definitions of courage that I found in the dictionary.com, here we go:
Courage - noun 1. the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.
I wonder about you guys are you in life generally courageous I will give you examples: Would you go to a person who is hitting their own kid and do something about it? Would you go to a person who is hitting their dog and do something about it? I am generaly corageous and I would go to the person and say something I cannot see someone hitting someone smaller or incapable of defending themselves. Would you take an action of courage to save someone or you would just be there and watch?

The kid thing I'm not sure. The dog thing definitely I can not stand to see an animal abused. Alot of people have hit their children the doesnt mean they are abusive. Animals dont really understand what they are doing wrong in most cases.
I just guess it depends on the scenario, but in most cases I dont consider myself
particularly brave unfortunately. I wish that I were.

Yes I will definitely will take all the actions I can.Courage to me is having the mental strength to do something you never thought you could do.I cannot keep myself in comfort zone while people hurting someone smaller or incapable of defending themselves. Those days I was even called to principal's office for my activities..

There are times in my life that I consider myself courageous. And I wouldn't just stand by and let someone get hurt especially if they couldn't defend themselves. As a matter of fact, I have tried to help somebody who I felt was in danger and still don't regret it.
I was told that I did the right thing. I would want someone to show courage and help me if I was in distress or in a time of trouble.

I consider myself to be courageous. I try to embrace difficult moments in life and learn from them. I can't stand running from fear. If you can't confront it, you'll never conquer it. I could NOT just stand by and watch someone abuse another. I would say something without having a second thought, if that didn't have any positive effect then I would call someone who would help.
Sometimes children don't have a voice and animals certainly can't tell someone they're being abused..so if no one stands up for them, what chance do they?

Oh,Valeria, unfortunately I'm afraid I'm not courageous enough sometimes.I'll just take one example here.As an English learner,I like the language very very much,so much that there will be times in my DREAM that I am talking with certain foreigners.Haha, isn't it funny? But once back in real life, even if a foreigner sits just opposite me,I just don't have the courage to start a conversation!!!Oh,what a shame.Really,I'm sure it is just courage that I need.So sevel occasions passed like this in such an embarassing atmasphere...I've known this all the time and I really wish I could improve myself in the future...
But on the other hand, when confronted with some difficulties in life, like two years ago, when my husband lost his job while I myself just not work for long, you can imagine we must be having a hard time. It's a time whenever pictured again, will bring tears to me again.Especiall for my husband,so I told myself and my husband, distress alone will not change anything except to make things worse. So what we need is to relax and keep a good mind-set.Everything gonna be ok!Then you know what? He soon found another job,and much better than the last one!So I think in some extent,I'm strong, hehe.

All foreigners speaking different languages than their own go to the same as you! I am with you, courage and go for it!

Dear Valeria, thank you very much for your encouragement.Yes,I've already realised the disadvantage and I am just trying hard to first improve my language skills and then just be brave enough to make the first step to communitate. And really hope it will not be quite a long time.Thank you again.

Valeria,
I consider it a little difficult to assess myself as courageous or not. This is for other people to decide. When it comes to involving myself in something which I am not directly connected to, there are times when I have been involved and also not.
I would rather relate the word to my actions with situations that are directly related to me and those involving facing my own fears and consequences of my actions. Here again I have been faced upto them and there are times they have got the better of me.

Hey it depends on incident .........
If some one is hitting kid and dog I have courage to stop him at all cost ...
But if some one like very nasty person armed with weapons hitting some one .......I am sorry although I have sufficeint courage to stop him also and can give him a lesson but I have my parents behind ...If he kills me who would look after my parents then .
I would call police in later case .....because I can not take life risks...
So courage has so many meanings......
Thanku

Well sometimes I am sometimes I'm not. Well as a magician it takes a lot of courage to go and perform for people you really don't know or people you have just met for the first time. I admit that I'm courageous in approaching and performing magic but when it comes to the point that someone in the crowd starts shouting that he knows how the trick is done. I somewhat lose my courage but of course I avoid it because it is hard to continue performing if I let fear take on me. Actually as One US president has said the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. So that's it take courage always .

Yes I do not like audiences at all and yes takes courage for sure. I know what you mean by people commenting this or that, one time I was doing a solo in a classic ballet in a theater and I had to do a flip and I hear this girl saying oh I do that in home! LOL, took me out I forgot part of what I had to do! In your case maybe you should put an IPOD on you and listen to music or something so you do not hear the audience! Jealous people!

hello valeria1
I think it is a interesting question.maybe we should tell the rudeness and courage.for me, i feel i am a courageous young man,If i meet some unfair thing happpen around me,i will take a action into it with the reasonable way.But i never think it is a courageous action to do something if i didn't judge the acutal fact of the case firstly. It may cause to be rude.so for me, just keep sober when meet something, and be courageous when you think it is right to do.lol
good luck
