chronic pain after broken collar bone

When you broke your collar bone, did the doctor reset it? Do you still have pain afterwards? Does your neck bother you now? I broke my collar bone 7 years ago, and the doctor did not reset the bone. There was a two inch gap. Now, my shoulder pulls my muscles which pulls my neck and I am in sever neck pain everyday. I am wondering if I will have to have surgery to correct this if possible.
