Since my only concept of America is what I see in the media I would like to know some more information on the place. What laws and customs do you have, and which state has the weirdest laws or customs. This is open to anyone who is in the know.

My friend it would be impossible to answer your question without writing you a very long book. What laws do we have? We have more laws and regulations than any other country on the planet. What customs do we have? We have almost every custom in the world because we have people living here from everywhere in the world. Which state has the weirdest laws and customs? Books have been written on that subject alone. Sometimes it seems that each state wants to outdo all the others in crazy new laws.
There really is no one custom for anything in our country. This is going to sound really strange to you, but the one time as a nation that we come closest to all doing the same thing is during a sporting event...not the Olympics or World Cup Soccer...our Super Bowl. However, even in that we are as different as the leaves on a tree. Many have parties and invite friends and family over for a wide variety of foods and snacks. Some go to friends and family's homes to watch. Many go to bars to watch and yet others stay home. For those who don't watch, there are thousands of cultural events and, of course, shopping with big sales for those not watching the game.
Hope this taste of our odd cultural helps to feed your interest. Just going to the site of one of our newspapers online can give you hours of reading. One of the best for real Americana is USA Today...not a great intellectual paper but one read by more of my people than any other.
