I am so proud to be a Jamaican seeing my fellow country men/women doing the things that they were unable to do because of the Drugs that was messing up the sports. Now that the World and Olympic Records for the 100 & 200 meters for Men belongs to Jamaica and the 400 meters hurdle for women Olympic Record is also here and I wondering what will be coming next tomorrow 21/8. Our athletes has been running for the past years drug free and the others who were breaking records were all drugs up. I am so glad that China Officials did what they say they will be doing. This Olympics is the best ever. Yes my country athletes get their just rewards. Merlene Ottey, Juliet Cuthbert, Grace Jackson, D. Hylton etc these were athletes that put out their all in their individual events but was unable to receive gold because of those Balco Athletes.
Now today we has shown the world that you can run drugs free and win Gold and break records. I am so proud to be a born Jamaican. Grown and still living here. Both 4 X100 relay and 200 meter women will be coming here too. I am so proud.
I AM SO HAPPY AND PROUD. KEEP IT GUYS.

I am so proud them, too. They created the running miracles. They really run so fast and it's hard to believe. I think somewhat the Olympics will have an effect on most people. At least right now I am interested in running and basketball:)
I love China

Kerry, it's very kind of you China did very well in this Olympics and Jamaica also had a great achievement in running. Well, I learned from it. When I was in school, I ran with fist. Now when I saw Usain Bolt ran, he didn't hold the fist, perhaps it will be faster. When I fully recover, I will test how big difference running speed between Bolt and me I am glad that you enjoy watching Beijing Olympics

Hello youless, so you are an athlete too.Yes the Olympics was great and this morning waking up it left a void. But you know we all have to go back to life isn't it. I am looking towards the Golden League the ending of this month because I know that my star runner Asafa will be doing something very memorable there. Well take care remember Worlds is next year it is not far and I am totally anticipating it.

Yes Kerry, you express the feelings of Jamaicans all over the world, because something people find difficult to understand is our undying loyalty to the ROCK, regardless of where we live at the moment! We were all swelling up with pride as our athletes were streaking or scorching across the track in the Birds Nest in Beijing, and of course, as night follows day, here we are now a few days later, listening and looking on in horror at the terrible destruction brought to the island by GUSTAV.
Hope you were not too badly affected, especially as we have heard so much about how much danger of flooding you have there in Portmore. I spent all day yesterday listening to Power 106 FM, with their reports from all corners of the island, and I thought the Prime Minister's summing up was pretty good. Best of luck in the coming months, and I look forweard to hearing how you are getting on and coping with the problems. My mother is bed bound in Malvern, up in the St Elizabeth hills above Santa Cruz, and as usual they were without electricity from early yesterday, and her land line has never been reconnected since the last hurricane! Stay proud and happy!

Hello Jahrock, welcome to MYLOT. The hurricane has not done anything dramatic to me but there are alot of disaster for others and I am praying that they will pull through. St. Elizabeth was spear this trip the damage was mostly in the east, Portland, St. Mary, St. Thomas and St. Andrew. Yes we are proud of the athletes and sometimes forgot that God is a jealous one so we should always give thanks to Him first and foremost. I am always happy to meet another Jamaican here in MYLOT. I am sorry about the none reconnection at your mother's but there are other types of phone here now in Jamaica. She can applied for one of the Digicel Home Phones and I think that Flow also supplied these. You see competition is here now in Jamaica so we don't have to depend on only one company again.
Take care of your self and continue to wave our flag high.

I can't tell you the sense of pride I feel for the country of Jamaica.
Jamaica ended a record-breaking medal performance at the 2008 Olympic Games with a bronze in the women's 4x400 metres on the final day of competition for the nation's athletes at the Bird's Nest Stadium in Beijing yesterday.
The island's contingent here, led by an awesome performance from Usain Bolt, finished with a record 11 medals - six gold, three silver and two bronze - beating, by four, the previous highest tally of seven at the Sydney Games in 2000.
This nation of less than 3 million people have a lot to be proud of. Jamaican reggae music is played worldwide and now the fastest man in the history of the planet is your native son.
That is just amazing. Just dread and irie.

Hello Lloyd, yes it is good to be a Jamaican at this moment. Yes the fastest man is from Jamaica but you should remember that it is not the first. Asafa Powell was the first World Record Holder in 100M in the Caribbean and Usain Bolt becomes the Second Jamaican.(Please note that they are the only two who has broke their own record.) He is the first Jamaican in the 200M. Everyone is taking about Bolt and forgetting that it was Asafa Powell that brings it to the Caribbean. I am proud of all the athletes. Veronica Campbell-Brown has also achieve what no other Caribbean/Jamaica athletes has ever done so far and that is to defend her olympic 200m title. Shelly-Ann Fraser is the first Jamaican woman to win the 100m in Olympics, Melaine Walker is the second Jamaica Woman to win 400M Hurdles at the olympic after Deon Hemmings. But still the emphasis is on Usain Bolt and I think that merit should be given where it is achieve. Usain Bolt is not the only one that did history for Team Jamaica but it seems as if he is. I love my sports men and women whether it be Cricket, Athletics, football etc.
Reggae and Dancehall Music is doing well too. The only thing that is a negative in Jamaica is Crime and Violence and I hope that some day those criminals will take a stand and stop doing it.
Jamaica is paradise and I wish the citizens here can see that.
Take care.

Why are you surprise. Jamaica is the no 1 in the Caribbean were athletics is concern. Merlene Ottey etc was doing very well in their individual events but have to complete with those cheating athletes (i.e. Marion Jones etc). She was honest enough to confess what about Gail Devers and Joner-Jones.
Don't be surprise my friend we were always among the top five in sprints.
