Has anyone here ever played runescape?

Yeah there are some skills you only get to use if you've paid, and some gear iirc. Your item bank thing is also bigger if you've paid. And yes this is the entire reason I boycott online play of some games and mmorpgs in general. If I shell out 60$ or more for a game i bloody well expect to be able to play it as much as I want, not be forced to pay them a monthly fee in order to use the game. I understand it costs them money to run the servers for the online play but still it's kind of ridiculous. It's not too much better on free servers for what games do have private servers running though. (WoW and RO to name a couple) THe people running those free servers like to give special 'donator perk items' to people who have donated. These items will make the characters *absurdly* overpowered on most occasions and any balance that was in the game flies right out the proverbial window. If they'd at least do like most dialup isp's used to do . YOu get so many hours of 'online time' per month and if you want more *then* you have to pay for it. Not "pay for it or gtfo oh and thanks for the 50$." -.-; And heck some of these games have expansion packs you have to pay for as well.
