I'm Gay... How do i tell my mum?!?

Hey everybody!
I'm openly gay with my friends but it's the family that i'm worries about telling! My dad takes the micky out of gay people all the time but deep down i don't think he would have a problem. My mum i know wouldn't have a problem but i just don't know how to tell her! And my nan.... hates gay people! She says they're wrong and disgusting and need sorting out in the head!
What should i do?!?

Tell your parents that they are failures in raising a child. And you have made a choice to be homosexual. I have never done anything that I wouldn't tell my parents.

Homosexuality is a choice. There is not 1 bit of scientific proof that they are born that way.
Just because "Oprah" says doesn't mean it is true.
If they are too ashamed to tell anyone about it, then they shouldn't be doing it.

You couldn't be more wrong! There have been hundreds of TV programs on lately about gay people and why they are gay... they believe they have found a gay gene you can get from your mother... they can see from children's activities and actions when they are young if they are going to be gay or not... it's not a choice believe me it has ruined my life and i've hardly started living it!

As I have said in other discussions. You have every right to live your life as you please. Do what ever makes you happy. If you lived in my area we may even be friends. But that isn't going to change anything.
Up to this day it hasn't been proven.
Have you read about the study of the twins? That is total bunk.
Not an ounce of proof has ever been presented to me other than their word.
Do you also understand that if you were living in a non social environment that you would cause the species to not exist? So if it is a gene it is a mutation to cause the production of humans to cease.

I can't believe how many ignorant people there are in the world. Isn't it annoying when someone talks completely out of their backside? They can't seem to see past their own ignorance enough to put themselves in another's shoes. I've read some stuff on here that just made me physically ill.
Anyway, I think you should just tell them the truth. Maybe I'd wait a little while before telling your grandma. It will be easier to get it out in the open with people who will understand, like your mom and dad. And I wish you the best of luck.

Just tell them honestly and if they scold you, beat or even kill them!!!
