Do you always have to wear real diamonds. Are you the
type girl that has to have the best of every thing.
My Wedding band is the real thing. And every thing my husband
buys me is the real thing. he would never think of buying me
something fake.
If I buy myself something, it will probably be fake. Why not
get a 2 carat ring cheep, instead of paying $700.00.
I'm not material about every thing. If it looks real and I
can fool people, good for me. I'll tell people, yea it's real,
and they believe it..........;-)
So is it real or fake for you.....;-)

If I have a diamond, I want it to be real. I got a gold band when we got married - matched bands. But, when we had been married around 20 years, my husband gave me a 1carat diamond engagement ring. It will probably be the only one I ever have, so I do cherish that. If people know what to look for, they surely can detect a fake diamond. They do not sparkle like a real diamond under light.

I worked in a jewelry store many year ago. A trained eye can spot a fake any time. And, you only have to have the sun or a very bright line shine on them, and you will notice that a fake doesn't put on the array of color in it's brightness that a real diamond does. And the better a diamond, the brighter the shine.

They really do, sometimes more. Most people can't tell the
difference. As long as you don't try to go too big, it is
really pretty.........;-)

Every girl wants a real Diamond, but honestly it doesn't matter to me as long as I get a ring. A wedding is something very special, if a man wants to marry me,it better be a Diamond, hehe well not always, but it comes from the heart so I don't think it should matter, as long as it's no completely fake.

We do not have diamonds, either of us.Or even gemstones. We have silver bands. Hubby wore his out that matches mine.I got him a plain one for now. We would like to go to South Dakota, and while there pick out some Black Hills Gold rings. I like crystals and stones, but do not have much call to wear them. I guess it just depends on what we are buying. I do not have to have name brand designer clothes, but I have found that I need name brand, real leather, well constructed shoes, not for the name value, but because they decrease the pain in my feet and in my knees and legs. I used to do Pay Less, and Wal Mart, but they did not wear well or feel good. I guess shoes are more of an indulgence for me than jewelry. The other real thing I like to wear is a real smile.

Gardengerty, you are right. Well-fitting shoes are much better for your health than a real diamond or gem. My children's pediatrician once told me that you can skimp on anything in a child's life but never skimp on their shoes. Always buy them the best fitting shoes you can afford because those feet will have to carry them for the rest of their lives. I tried to do that for my children and hope they have done it for theirs. I have some problems with my feet and my mother always made sure we had proper fitting shoes, so I see the need for those good shoes. I have big feet, so I've never skimped on mine, either.

I do have to wear silver or gold or my skin will turn
green. They say that is too much nickle in your body right?
The stone is not that important....:-)

It depends. If I can't get real diamond might as well I don't get a fake one. If I can't get real gold, might as well I don't get a fake one. Doesn't mean I am material girl or anything, I just don't want to spend time, money or energy for something that is not worth what I spend. This way if someone asks is it real, I don't have to lie about it. I'll save lying for more important things :)
If it's something I use regularly like household stuffs I don't mind buying them at dollar store, what is the point buying $5 dish washing sponge if you can get it at $ 1 and throw it away after a month use?

the $ 1 rule is only for household and diamond is not
so for these things if I can't afford it I am not buying it at all
rather than buying fake I'd rather use the money to buy something else

It is not throw away jewelry. And you don't buy it at the $1.00
store. Most of it is still quite expensive, Just not the price
of diamonds. And it is set in gold still. To me this is a
trivial lie, most people don't ask. Why would they, of course
its real.....;-)

I guess everybody wants the real thing. I want it too, but oh well, I can't afford it. For me, it's not a question of wanting it, it's a question of affording it. Sigh. Good for you, your hubby is generous enough and romantic enough to give you the real thing. I know, I'm a practical person as well, I'd rather spend on something not so expensive but looks good as well. But well, your hubby sure knows how to express his love (*wink). I'm sure my wedding band didn't cost my ex-hubby more than $100, my! He never even gave me an engagement ring! Other girls can be so lucky...

Err... been separated for 4 years now, no hubby to ask for the real thing.. Well, my time will come..
Hmmmm, I don't think we can really trust them in such areas, especially fashion, yup, such bad taste in some guys...

Maybe for an anniversary that's what you could
hint you want him to buy you. A engagement ring.
I always pick out my jewelry before he buys it.
Most men have bad taste, Don't you think.?........;-)

i enjoy wearing stuffs that are glittering and very catchy to the eyes. But I rather not buy real diamonds.its pretty too expensive and costly. im just being practical with the present economy status. someday if the right guy will give me a golden real diamond ring, he's gonn abe the prince charming of my life.Diamonds are real womens bestfriend. You look rich, just by wearing any real diamonds on your body, but for now i just stick with the fake one.... =)

I just like anything that sparkles, i have so much of what they now call bling, sometimes i think that bling seems to sparkle more than diamonds, it would be nice to have diamonds but that is not an option for a lot of people.

It not an option for a lot of people. I don't see
the point in spending a lot of money every time
you want a new piece of jewelry.
I am picky about what I get though......;-)

Of course I will always go for real. It's a good investment after all. And my husband does the same as yours. He would never give me anything fake. A gift for him is something that should last forever. And diamonds are forever! But I have nothing against fancy jewelry. They are also good for every day use. In fact there are those that really look genuine and can be used to fake people around. Ha!ha!ha! Especially the snatchers out there. But they are fake so they fade and after a while they are for disposal. Once you add up the money you used to buy all those cheaper fake ones you will realize that it could buy you even at least one real one. How is it? Do you think I am right?

gold or sterling silver. So it usually doesn't fade.

I would say depends on what you can afford. Its nice to have the real thing, of course...but then again, if it will cause you financial hardship and miseries later on in life, not to mention the risk that it can put your life into (I'm talking of break-ins, burglary, hold-ups etc), maybe you can settle for the second best. I'd also say, depends on your lifestyle. If your social calendar is always full of big parties and you're rubbing elbows with the high rollers, then of course, you have to be in the same level. But if you're just an ordinary girl leading a very simple, ordinary life...to have a real diamond for me, will definitely sound impractical. Especially nowadays, even top-paid celebrities are sometimes wearing "costume jewelleries (fancy bling-blings) whenever they're attending big events and galas.

Your so right on everything you said.
I know a girl that's not gonna get married till
her boyfriend can buy her a $30.000 ring. And she
doesn't work. Her parent are rich. I hope her boyfriend is.
You can almost buy half a house for that.
She has lost her mind. My first wedding ring cost $400.00
That's all we had.

Hey walkthetalk! I refuse to wear any jewelry that is fake.
I will only wear real diamonds and real gold. I don't like
silver but will wear it on occasion if it's sterling, but
I basically hardly ever wear it. If there is a nice piece
like I have a really nice cat watch that has 2 fake diamonds
for eyes that I will wear because I love the watch. It is
a Gruen watch and I bought it because if is unique looking
and I love cats! I just am not comfortable wearing fake
diamonds even if they look real. I have seem some that look
more real than the real ones. It's just not for me.

With the recession that's happening around the world, I don't care whether it's a fake or not. It does not matter to me at all. It's better to be fake on material things than to other things.

Well I know if it is up to me I prefer to go the cheap route. With my husband he feels that if we have the extra money then he gets it. To me it does not matter about fake or real as long as it comes from someone you care about and love. That way you know it came from the heart. My wedding ring is not real and I know it. We did not have very much money at all at that point so I am happy with what I have. I know for my sister-in-law she keeps changing her wedding sets I think now she has gotten like 3 different ones now.

I really don't care. Well, I take that back. I do care. I care about NOT spending too much money. With the horrible price of diamonds and gold these days, I cannot see a reason to part with the money. Nope. I'll take fake. I guess when you get older, your "friends" would never dream of asking if it's real or fake, so that's not an issue. I wear the jewelry that I like. And I do LOVE rings. Sometimes, that means I buy a pretty Avon ring...and you'd be surprised at the number of people who ask where I got it.

Hello
What is that saying there is nothing better than the real thing . I believe that each and every girl wants atleast a real diamond engagement ring . Mine is a real diamond and I also have the circle necklace of diamonds . Those are the only 2 real pieces of jewelery I have . I would one day love to get white gold hoop earrings . My earrings now are just silver and they dont last very long . I think it might be a good idea to invest in something real and have it around for a longer time . Sometimes , with diamonds they look real when they are fake , but just look at the band . Some of those real big rings that are huge and so many carrots look fact to me actually . The other day at the ball park a lady had a ring that took up half her finger and was wearing a holed up pooh bear shirt and that made me think !

Yea, if your gonna wear a ring that big you probably should
dress the part.
My point was, I think it is okay to wear fake diamonds. I have
more fake than real.
I also like sterling silver. Or whit gold. Either one. More
than yellow gold. But I have more sterling silver.
Thanks.........;-)
