I just did mine last sunday... and i am very satisfied with the result... i was getting tired with the old arrangement which my husband did last year... and i felt the apartment needed a change... since i am the only one who can do it... i moved the furnitures around... just pushed them... since most are too heavy for me to carry... especially the fridge... and i even got the chance to clean under the sofa, cabinet, and fridge...
My daughter even love the new arrangement... since i designated a place for her toys and big car...
My husband would be shocked when he sees that changes that i did... but he can always rearrange it when he comes home next year... by that time... i would be ready for another home furniture arrangement...
How often do you reaarange the furnitures in your home?...

I do mine whenever I get bored with how it looks. I was doing it every 6-8 months but since I now have the baby crawling around I dont have as much time to actually get into what it entails to rearrange everything so I think the last time I did so was about 3 months ago. I change the kids room around every once in a while, we just got the boys new dressers and a smaller tv so I redid it then, I think that was about 2 months ago. I try to leave our bedroom alone for the most part, it has the 2 large dressers in there and its hard to move around on my own.

You must have a big house... i live in a small apartment with more or less 45 square meters floor space... so there is really nothing i ca do about the arrangement of the furnitures... it would be nice to have something different to look at from time to time...
Thanks for the response...

Its actually not that big. I wish it was bigger. I think I rearrange it as much as I do because it is so small....I try to make everything fit better and there be more room.

I used to rearrange my furniture in my room when I was a kid and, I would do it sometimes in my dorm, and my apartments but, since I have lived in my house, the only time I have rearranged my furniture has been when we get new furniture. Although, I am thinking about moving one item out of my living room and into the hall between the foyer and the living room. That would make things a little more aesthetically pleasing. But, I can't rearrange the furniture in my living room because there isn't another way to do so. We use up all the space the only way it can be used. There are also no other really great ways to rearrange any of the other furniture in my other rooms in the house. I do remember the thrill I would get when I did rearrange my furniture so, I am there with you in spirit, if not ability and chance! LOL!

I used to think that there was no other way to rearrange the furnitures in my apartment because it was quite small... but i found a way around it... the only thing i did not move is the couch... since it was quite big... but i was able to do the task which i thought was impossible at first... and i love the result... thanks for the response...

Well, if the arrangement suits you needs... and you feel that that is the perfect one for you... then there is no need to move anything around... but in my case... i love looking at something new from time to time...

Hello aseretdd,
At least twice a year if I am pretty lazy. If I am pretty hardworking, I will do whenever I feel like doing it. My husband thinks that I am crazy and a little bit disturbing too as I will ask him to help me whenever I need to rearrange those heavy furniture. I am not a strong person, not like my mother but I love to spring clean my house and rearranging things inside the house whenever I feel like to do it *smiles*

Twice a year is a good thing... i can only do it once a year since i don't have anyone to help me... but my husband usually does that task when he is at home... i am fairly stong... but not strong enough to carry the heavy furnitures so i just push them to where i want to place them... thanks for the response...

We almost never rearrange our home furniture. I think it's because they're already quite convenient as they are - my dad likes to plan these kinds of things before they're actually placed. We only rearrange when we have new furniture coming in and we have to make space for it.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

i did rearrange last month... it would be nice to do it sometimes, and like what you've said, we could have the chance to clean other places that we dont often notice... and it's nice to see some changes in the arrangements of the furnitures...

I agree... even if the apartment or house is just small... we can always use our creativity in terms of furniture arrangement... i would do it often... if only someone would help me... but since there is none... i can only do it when i have the time and i am not too tired...
Thanks for the response...

Hi aseretdd, I won’t rearrange all the furniture in my house at any fixed time. I would move one or some of them only if I feel that the house would look better and lively after the new rearranging. My husband knows that I like moving the furnitures whenever I feel bored to see them to sit in the same place for quite some time, so he always tries his best to fix small wheels on the bottom of the heavy furnitures for the convenient of moving them easily. We also like to buy new furniture with build in wheels.
posting and have a nice day.

Since the apartment that i live in is quite small... moving one furniture would entail moving the rest... so last sunday was quite a challenge for me... and none of them had a wheel... the only one item i did not move is the couch... since it was quite big... and there is really no other place i can put it... but with the rest... i am quite happy with the result... thanks for the response...

I usually move my furniture out twice a year thats when I shampoo the carpet. But I put all my furniture back in the same spot because I dont have enough room to move it in different places.

Well that is a good reason not to rearrange the furniture more than once in a year... if i have internet connection at home... that will add to my problem since i would definitely wonder where is the best place for me to place the laptop or computer... well good thing that is not a problem right now... thanks for the response...

I just recently rearranged our lounge and do it every so often, when I feel like it. Our furnishings are so heavy that it's hard to move on my own sometimes. I don't think my hubby is going to like it though and when he returns Sept 9th, I'm sure he's going to want me to put it back because our two-seater is beside the porch door, and he doesn't like having anything near the door when he opens it to go out and smoke on the porch. He's a big guy so having to squeeze by the chair and door is uncomfortable for him. I mean I've placed it so there is room if he opens the door wide first then goes through, but I don't know LOL he makes little things so difficult LOL

Your mother must love to buy things for the home... i did not add anything new to my apartment... since doing that would lessen the valuable small space we have... so the best i can do it to just rearrange the furnitures... thanks for the response...

i can't rearrange my living room right now. the couch i have, and the way my apartment is laid out i just can't fit the couch anywhere else without either blocking the furnace thing or blocking doorways. so unless i get a new smaller couch it is staying the way it is.

Well, my couch stayed where it is... because we have the same problem... and unless i replace it... it is staying in its position for a long time... i just moved it so that i can clean under it... but with the other furnitures like the dining table and drawer... i was successful in giving them new places... thanks for the response...

When I lived alone I almost never change the position of the furnitures except that I bought a new furniture. After I get married I don't care it much and I will listen to my wife if she want to. I don't want to make her unhappy, I will praise every arrangement initiated by her.

Your sons must be good at interior decorating... and maybe they just do not want you to strain yourself... that is why they want to do the rearranging themselves... it is always nice to have someone to do that sort of task... thanks for the response...

Not rearranging the home furnitures does not equate to being lazy... there are some who are quite content on what they see in their home everyday... and you wrote here yourself that you want to keep clean and tidy... and that is a good thing... thanks for the response...

My ex-husband used to say that he had to be careful when he came home each day, there was no telling where the furniture would be LOL. I normally change my furniture around two to three times a year. Normally in the fall and spring, it also gives me a chance to do some cleaning under things that normally don't get moved. Sometimes I might move something small more often, if I see a way it would look better in the room, or might be in a more useful place in the house.

That is a very practical reason why we need to rearrange furnitures more than once a year... there is a need to clean under the things because dust would usually build up... i was shock to see the amound of dust under the fridge... that is why i am glad i did the rearranging... thanks for the response...

Frankly, I am a lazy bone. I don't want to rearrange my home furnitures unless I buy something new and I have to make some room for it. You are very diligent:) I am sure your husband will be pleased to see it.

Well, i don't think i can be considered as diligent... since it has been a year since we last rearranged the furnitures... at this point i just need a change of scenery in the apartment... because i feel that my life is being so monotonous... thanks for the response...

Hi there aseretdd.
I re-arrange my household furniture whenever it happens. As for my Bedroom it is as often as it gets done, probably not too much. I am currently wanting to change my bedroom around but I don't think that it would happen the way I want to change it to.
Catch ya later

my mom does the rearranging. she changes the arrangement every so often that it's like living in a brand new house every time! i often get exasperated though because it's like she can't make up her mind, lol. plus the furniture is heavy and she does it alone so..i get a little worried sometimes.

If your mother is a stay at home mom... and the children are all grown up... i can understand why she would rearrange the furnitures often... that is one way for her to keep busy and to fight boredom... so just bear with the frequent changes... thanks for the response...
