How to swim? It's a pity I cannot.

My husband swims very well, but he cannot teach me because he is not a good teacher.
Now I have a plan that each time I bring a buoy when I get into water. And the buoy will be deflated a little each time as I go into the swimming pool. I think this can help me learn swimming some day.
What do you think? How do you learn to swim at the begining? Do you have any good idea? Thanks very much.

It seems many of you learn to swim at a kid's age, but I missed it.
It is a good idea that I learn in the training cleass, however, I really want to learn by myself. Hope it is a successful attempt.
