Whenever I have to travel it's either long or short trip I always find it hard to have sleep! There are times that I don't have a good sleep and thinking to have one in the plane but I'm still struggling to have one! I know that if you are in first class it will be easy but that would be very expesive! But I saw a few person that would fall asleep pretty easy! What about you?

Well, I'm used to travelling...and have found my comfortable position when I need to sleep on a flight. But I do have a problem when I am travelling with my kids and can't catch a wink. When my son sleeps, I want to be awake and when he's awake...I need to keep an eye on him. The older one was pretty easy but I still was worried and wanted to keep an eye on him. But my little one can be quite a handful and can't sleep if he can't find HIS comfortable position and that's hard in a plane. He gives me a hard time on short flights. I'm dreading my trip to Africa next year....I just hope he's going to settle down by then.
I think I find it easy to fall asleep in a flight because I'm not very tall and the space is sufficient for me. I usually open the table and put a pillow on it and sleep that way (like we would take a nap at school).

Normally I don't have a problem falling asleep on the plane, but this last trip I took was not so easy. I just couldn't get comfortable at all!

I too find it very difficult to sleep in a plane. Especially during the day, i would rather take a window seat and keep staring out and enjoy the view. In the night I do try to get a nap,but get easily disturbed with the movement of people or a little bit of turbulence.

I think that's the best thing we can do have a window seat and enjoy the view or wacth movie! I even try to bring book with me to read because I know if I read I will fall asleep but that doesn't work with me either! Thank you for your response.

I unfortunately have to fly a LOT and the flights times I generally have suck to be honest! So it is usually overnight and very uncomfortable. The only time I seem to be able to get some decent sleep on a plane is if I am flying Business Class; but most of the time I am flying Economy so if it is an overnight flight I try to get a window seat so I can at least rest up against the side wall with a pillow! Overall I find it hard to sleep on a plane because not only is it uncomfortable but you are always wary of the stranger sitting next to you as well and don't wish to end up falling asleep all over them or snoring or something! lol

I cannot enjoy a good sleeping in the plane. Not only the noise of plane is loud, but the air pressure in the plane is always make me feel uncomfortable. There is always something wrong with my ears in the plane, what I want is just land off quickly and go out and breath the fresh air.

I find it hard to sleep whether it's short or long trip and its quite annoying specially if its a long trip because I'll get out of the plane looks like I have black eyed, lol. Most of the time, I just try to enjoy the view or watch some movie. Thanks, riya. ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

I have enough trouble falling asleep in my own bed - you can bet I have trouble in the plane. So, to make it easier, the last time I flew to England, I took some meds to take on the plane that would help me sleep - and it did. On the way back, we were so worn out and getting sick that both of us, the roomie and I, slept like logs!

I don't normally take meds, just let nature do the job, but that time on the plane I took something that I take for vomiting. It was a supository and I had to keep it cool till we got on the plane don't know if I could do it now. It knocked me right out.

Hi CJay. It's really difficult for me to fall asleep in the plane. Actually not only plane. I would find it more comfortable to sleep in a bus. The seat in the plane is just too small, i can't really place my legs up and the back is too straight for me. Even i do fall sleep but i would definitely wake up after a while. So, i can't really take a good sleep in the plane.
I saw some people just lie down on few seats and sleep because the seats are not occupied. I always want to do that but no chance.
Have a nice day and happy mylotting. ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

Hi lulumartin! Your lucky to be able to sleep or have a nap in the bus, I can't, but I do close my eyes sometimes to have a bit of rest. I agree that plane seats are very uncomfortable. Its very rare to have few seats that are not occupied, hopefully you'll get luck next time. Thanks and have a nice day.

It's interesting because as a little bit of an insomniac, being on a plane rocks me to sleep. Of course shorter plane rides don't usually knock me out..Maybe it's the anticipation of "deplaning soon" that prevents me from falling asleep. Then again, must be the "Dramamine" i take prior to long flights that rocks me to sleep. Have U tried that?

I wish I can, lol! Even at home I find it hard to easily fall asleep and I'm not sure if I have insomnia, but maybe I have! The longest flight I have been is 7 hours and I have another 3 hours before that. All that time I was wide awake, I tried my best to have a nap, but I can't and just couldn't get comfy. Thanks, Fiki, you have a nice day. ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

I really find it hard to sleep other than a real bed. So imagine how difficult it would be if I'm on a plane. I don't usually sleep when I'm traveling whether it be on a plane, on a boat, on a bus, on a car or wherever that involves traveling. It's just really hard to get my self to sleep. I'm very sensitive even with the slightest movement or even with the littlest noise. So I would rather have a seat next to the window to appreciate the view of the world. hehehe

I, too, can't sleep on a plane. I have tried to but it is just way too uncomfortable
to sleep. I don't know how people do it. I have fallen asleep once on a plane and I
woke with such a sore neck that it wasn't worth the half hour that I slept.
I have been on a plane lots. I live in Calgary and my husband lives in Winnipeg so I
have flown back and forth several times. It is only a two hour flight so usually I
don't want to sleep but sometimes coming home I wish I could sleep because as soon
as I get off of the plane I go straight to work. And I am usually pretty tired because
I never slept much on the weekend because I wanted to spend as much wake time with my
husband.
I am not a good sleeper under normal circumstances so sleeping on the plane is very
difficult for me.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good day, Chris ![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

Hi chrislotz! I too not a good sleeper, not just in the plane I mean in general. I guess there are some people that just need a chair and would fall asleep easily, lol! Thankfully you only have two hours in the plane to see your husband. I have been in a long flight and didn't get any sleep and I feel so tired after. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day, Chris. BTW, I would love to add you as a friend and I hope that ok. Thanks! ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

It is very uncomfortable. Especially since I usually sleep on my side, not my back. I think sleeping sitting up is hard in general, and also I feel bad about leaning my seat back for the people behind me, which would make things more comfortable.
