one of our neighbors who is as young as 15 years old just delivered a cute little girl who is now 10 months old. her name is Sam and most of the day time this cute little infant stays in our house because her grandparents think she is most taken cared of by us, four Registered Nurses. we just love looking at her for quite some time because the joy it brings when she smiles just makes everything light. then one time her mother asked about some things relevant to her infant care. Sam has started eating little solid foods as weaning is advisable to start as early as 6 months. then she asked about toilet training which made me think for answers. i told her, it depends on the child when she is ready or not. there should be some sort of readiness skills that must precede prior to the actual training. it really varies and it is a case to case basis. however, this could be something to watch for as so much in delay may warrant some abnormalities. i just don't wanna go by the book to see how the whole process goes on. i need some parent mylotters to share actual experience that could be helpful both to Sam and her mother. would you mind sharing yours? thanks!

Toilet training starts as soon as the child is ready to be trained and at appropriate age... Usually it starts from toddlers age 1-3years. readiness is when the child showing interest in toilet bowls and that she or he wants to urinate or poop on that.

I actually know one couple who started training their baby at nine months. That is unusually soon. I think the normal age is around two but it can vary a lot. There is no magic age. As you said every child is different.
