There's this friend of mine, who has developed a liking for a gal, he met online... More like love
I have a different opinion on this matter... I believe that when u hav not seen the person, there's a very strong chance, that it wont work out... I dunno, what to tell him

i used to like someone i met online and i can say that up to now im still infatuated with that person..true emotions can also be felt online, you just have to be sincere with the person your sharing intimate details with..

i never said that emotions are not true... but after some time, some problems starts to creep in... coz u cant know a person completely, unless he's physically present with u

actually, i do believe that u can find love online, but thru the net is just the 1st stage, coz if merely depends on the net to communicate, i won't think it can last long, i will see it as a crush rather than love. For me, love involve a lot of things, like whether two ppl can tolerate well regarding their lifestyle, their habits, their family and so on...but i do heard a lot of ppl success thru this method, coz it's a quick and convenient way to 'find' a lover online, but still, the two ppl must try 2 get together to go to the next stage, and to maintain a good r'ship is even more challenging for them...wish them good luck ^_^

I don't know, I have known people where this has seemed to have worked, but in all those cases both people tend to be rather socially awkward. For me personally, I wouldn't be able to without having actually met in person and gotten to know the person that way. For me, even if this is shallow, looks are part of a relationship, and a physical attraction is needed, and without ever meeting, how can one know if this exists. Also, people act very different in person than they usually do online, and you can't really know someone without actually "knowing" them in person, I do not believe.

yeah u r rght....sooner or later the question of actually meeting in person will come up nd while many people would say its better to take ur time nd let the online relationship develop, i strongly believe that the sooner u do it, the better. if u leave it too long, then the impression u have built up of this person will be soo deep rooted that yr expectation will be far too high nd u will be set fr disapointment..the other point is if u have been a lot more confident chatting than u would be in real life, how r u goin to be able to keep u that persona. so assumin that u r both happy with the lenght of time the romance has been goin on for nd u decided to meet, wat will it be like?? it will be quite strange to begin with. u may find that although u have been up most nights until 5 in the morning chatting, u find it hard to talk about things in the flesh....
so....i think if u can pass that first test..then the things get a lot easier...
