This is the article I read: http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/27212434.html?showAll=y&c=y Okay, so I know this is local politics, but I figure if it's happening in Louisiana, it's bound to be happening elsewhere, right? Read the article. I know even my more conservative friends will find fault in this, or at least, they should. Whatever happened to separation of church and state? And, come on now, don't you think if these religious officials had kept their mouths shut about this, we wouldn't have even noticed any 'wink-wink, nudge-nudge' action behind closed doors? Seriously, this is out of hand. Whether you're Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, you should find fault in this decision because this is the United States of America, and this decision goes against what we stand for, equal rights for all citizens. Please, I urge everyone to read the entire article before trying to answer my questions out of context. Otherwise, your answers will make no sense to me. Thank you.

Equal rights for all of us is a binding statement. Inforcing that clause should be very important. Look at it from every point of view... Gay people have the same rights the rest of us do, BUT -no more than that. Because of certain people and their "actions" in the work force affecting other people around them, it makes this a issue that has to be dealt with evenly. I'm a white woman, straight and 52 years old. I can understand not getting a job because someone a bit younger than me who is in better physical shape had applied for it. Am I going to start a "march" against such an issue? NOPE! Let's say a "gay" man applied for a job where no one else there was gay... On his application did he admit his preference? Should a company hire him knowing that his preference would probably end up causing problems there? Would he start a march when this was a reason for him not getting the job? YEP! Maintaining a good work environment is very important. It seems to me that the "white male" is the one that should be griping about how his rights are being taken away. Companies are filling a quota and have to turn down many white employees to do this. Is that right? I guess so! We all have the same rights and none of us have any more than the other. It's very important to look at this issue from every persective. Is Lousiana taking away their rights or just "not bowing down" and giving gays any extra rights?
