According to Nostradamus, the world was to end in 1999. During the Gulf War all books on Nostradamus were sold out in the bookshops in Sri Lanka, because people thought that it is now going to happen. But it never happened. These predictions of his are interpreted after something happens it can never be used to predict events. Now people are talking about a giant meteorite striking the Earth in 20 years. But by 2040 people will forget about that prediction and go behind something else.

Yeah, just like you said. These days anything is possible.
But that will be the and of the world....like in the movie Terminator 2. That will be the Judgment Day.

The third world war will never be a reality because US is stonger than the other nations. If it is to happen all Western countries will have to isolate the US and lower their morale first. But as you notice all democrasies are governed by the people. They decide what type of leader that thye want. So I don't think the people in the Western countries will allow any sort of thing that will deprive them of the luxuries they are enjoying now.
Saddam tried his hand at war. If you read the fiction "The Fist of God" by Frederick Forsyth, Saddam actually had an atom bomb in is possession which he hoped to send to the battle field and destroy all the forces. But the US first located the bomb and destroyed it. It was for this purpose that the US was killing time negotiating till Saddam's forces entered a good part of Kuwait. If Saddam succeeded, then it would have been the third world war.

No, I don’t think so. Don’t worry another 10-15 years it will not take place. Accept US not other countries are in a position to initiate the third world war. During Iraq war some of the countries help the US but they learnt the lesson from that war. For world war there should be at least two strong sides but at present I don’t thing any country will stand against the US. After USSR dispersion there is no chance to world war. US is already on a driver seat he will never want to loose his present position because after world war the scenario will be completely changed , no one will be there for rule. All the world leaders are well aware of after war result. So, in my opinion there is very little chance of world war III. If any time the word war took place the Asia will be the centre of world war, this is definite.
