My wife and I had this discussion (argument even) about which style guide was better. I am a librarian and she is a teacher and for over an hour we debated which was superior. I was in favor of Chicago and she defended MLA. So what's your choice? And no one better choose APA!

I'm not sure one is necessarily better than another. It depends on what kind of writing you are doing. When I was in college, the English department expected us to know and use MLA for our papers. Now, I've been doing a lot of editing for book publishers, and the Chicago Manual of Style is the industry standard. If I had to choose, I would probably go with Chicago style because it is more versatile and can be applied to both academic writing and professional writing.
