Monday, much to my dismay, my gas light came one. I was hoping to eek it out until the end of the week. Anyways, I filled up regular was $3.66 down a lot since the last time I gassed up at $3.80. Today, I ran out for a few errands and gas dropped $.10! Ergh. I am glad for the relief at the pump. $3.56 is nice, but couldn't they have dropped it Monday? lol

You have NO idea how relieved I am! (while still being envious of you $3.56 lol) At it's peak we were up to I believe $4.90. And I have been so relieved/happy/excited/thankful that it has been going down this month. I as you do cringed when my gas light came on yesterday and was thinking of ways to avoid it (call the boyfriend to push maybe? LOL) anyways, when I got the gas station I was happy to see it was all the way down to $3.81. Hopefully us California people will be as lucky as you soon!

That'd be nice. If gas was $3.50 by you it would probably be pretty close to $3 here. What I never understood it that Louisiana has a ton of oil refinery's but the cost of gas is still high.

I live in New Jersey, our high in some places probably reached $4.19. We bought gas for $3.49 last week, I have even seen $3.43. I am so glad the prices are going down. My husband is a salesman, and he sometimes have appointments a distance from our home. This becomes very costly when he does not make any sales. This week he did not have any appointmets for two days, and two days this week he has had relatively local appointments. He is basically spending more than he is making in gas prices.

I got gas today for 3.28 a gallon. I'm dreaming of 2.95 already. But the cost of oil went up 5.00 a barrel today. So I'll just continue dreaming.

Wow 3.28! I passed a few gas stations yesterday but didn't really notice the price. I tend not to look until my tanks gets close to empty.

Where do you guys live and i want to move there!! Here in Ontario Canada, we see the prices fluctuate all the time but nothing dramatically. Last week the gas was at $1.27/L, 2 days ago it was down to $1.22/L, yesterday it went up to $1.24/L and today it's at $1.26/L. Tomorrows Friday so it will most likely go up again but on Monday/Tuesday it will probably drop a cent or 2. We don't see these big drops here, just hikes all the time! I just cant take it anymore. These prices are killing me!

I live in Louisiana, not that far from New Orleans.
Liters are more than gallons, right? So my car, which takes 12 gallon (not that I have ever put 12 gallons in it), would be 45 L.
Wow that would be a lot of money for gas. I would probably sell my car! I was cringing at $38 the other day.

Yes my car takes 45L of gas from empty to full. When I'm at a quarter of a tank, it usually takes me $50 to get it to full. I also drive quite a bit and I find myself filling up my tank at least 2 times a week! I'm spending $100 a week on gas alone! If I had the option to cell my car, I would but unfortunately I need it too much. I just have to be thankful that I have a little 4cyl car and not a 6cyl or a big SUV!

My husband is in the same boat. He works about 35 miles from home & has to pay a toll. Even worse, his car take premium! Ack.

My son is 9 and when I was pregnant with him and for awhile after gas was less than $1. I know when he was around 2, I remember gas going up to like $1.20, but we lived in the mid-west and we paid more for everything there.

The gas companies finally realized what they were doing to the economy & that it was about to turn around & bite them in the end. By leaving the prices so high for so long people had begun to change their driving habits, driving less & buying more fule efficient vehicles. As the trend continued the oil companies were hurting their own sales so they did a dramatic reduction ( mind you it won't go as low as it had been ) to start people driving again. People will get used to the new ( still slightly higher than previous price ) & the big oil companies will do it again raising it even higher than this time. It's the same game they've played for years this is just the longest single spike they've tried to pull off.
The only way to stop the process is to not breath the sigh of relief & relax back into our old habbits.

Yep we've noticed the dramatic decrease in gas prices once again. We were over $4 for the longest time and slowly it's dropped. We're now at something like $3.66 which is nice. I'm gladd it's finally under $3.88 or under $4 at least. I'm tired of breaking whenever I get to the pump.

Yeah you must live near me since gas is also $3.66 since im not sure how it is in other states. But it is a good thing to see gas finally go down in price. But I dont think it will last I have a feeling it will go past $4.00 within a few months. But thats what I just think.

Gas tends to drop most on weekends but, it really depends on when the station has to refill. They pay a certain amount for their oil which locks in our price at the pump until they have to buy more to refill their tank. So, what we pay is a percentage of whatever they paid. So, if they need to refill their tanks (or whatever that is) on a Tuesday, that is when the price will change.
I could be wrong about this but, that is my understanding of the times prices change at each individual gas station.

Yes, I have noticed the gas price dropping. I am so happy and hope it continues. Prices here in indiana dropped .20 in two weeks. The average here is about 3.69 for regular.

Yes, our prices have dropped over 40cent and I was watching good morning yahoo news to find out that Texas was the worst with shortchanging thousands of customers at the pumps. One reason is because the pumps only have to be inspected every 4 yrs now because of cut-back in inspectors. Our gas price today is average $3.43 down from $3.95 4 months ago.
