Do you know how to speed reading? Ordinary reading skills won't do in today's world because there is too much infromation and too little time to assimilate it.If you read at the average speed of 250 words per minute, you're at a major disadvantage trying to take in the facts and concepts you need to perform well in school or on the job.For that matter, you're at a severe disadvantage even at speeds of 400~600 words per minute-a rate that's in the top range for the most experienced students and asults. so what is the solution to this dilemma?

Ah ha! I read a book on this. =) The key is to expand your vocabulary. By recognising and understanding what individual words mean, you can just take a quick look and you'll have meaning. Basically, to read more, look up the definitions if you don't understand, and slowly you'll be able to speed read. Takes time. THat's what I got from the book though. Unfortunately, the book is in Chinese. So is the title. But here it is anyway, "???????" by Syuiti Kato (1995), translated by ???.

Yeah, I do this when I'm in a rush. It's something that kind of comes naturally to me. There are times where I want to go slower so I can enjoy what I'm reading. And I can also read upside down. That's another little skill I have, lol. I guess speed reading can be taught if someone is eager to learn.
