Is a Black President a sign of a Turning Point in American History?

Many so called political and historical pundits have predicted that this move will lead to America's problems in future, for they fear that the White integration will be tested and the United States will be reunited on the basis of castes and races. I don't know how right they are but it really smells fishy. I believe that this is the first time in human history that man has been recognized as a man and not a member of a particular group or a sect.
