Do you ever have that strong desire to have a dog pet???????????????

The last pet I had was a cat that lived to be 17 yrs old. That was about 10 years ago. Although I wanted a dog, I forced myself to wait until the time was right. My time table depended on my plans to retire. Now that I'm on the verge of retirement, I figured it was time because by the time I fully retire the dog would be old enough to be a full time companion for me. So far my timing was just right. I'm semi-retired now and I had just enough spare time to house break him and bond with him. My Golden retriever is 2 years old now and I will be retiring in the near future and will be able to give him my full attention and we should have many years together as friends. So, for me, it was a matter of timing.

I have had several dogs in my life. Right now I have two kitties though they are so much easier to take care of then dogs. I do like dogs but cats are just so much more independent and don't count on you as much to take care of them.

I begged my parents for a dog every year growing up, but my mum hates animals and I never even got so much as a fish! I still really want a dog. We have two cats whom I love more than anything, but I also really want a pug dog. I've dreamed about having one for years and I even picked out a name. It's not really feasible at the moment though. We don't have the money and the space. I hope we'll be more solvent soon though and my pug dreams can come true. I even have books on pugs and a "Beware of the Pug" sign!
