olympics 2008 is almost at its end now. most of the events in sports are either finalised or shall be having their finals soon and the participants have won their medals and are looking forward to the next one in 2012.
what lessons do we learn from there. what will be the target for the next olympics for us? what preparations do we have to do to achieve those targets?

Beijing 2008, is a dream came true for singapore, because we finally have a silver medal after a 48 yr wait since the last silver medal in olympics.. lol =D
When it coems to london 2012, hopefully team singapore will have another silve or bronze to add on to this current silver, and hopes all be on our swimmer who had broken the asian record for this olympics.. hehe

Hi juhi! First of all let me congratulate all those winners of the present Olympics. Let us all join together to say better luck next time to those who missed the medals, yet performed well and kept the events going competitively. Participants as also those at the hierarchy by now would have realised or realising their lessons from the Olympics about the strenghts and weaknesses. To prepare well for the next Olympics, steps to be taken from now itself, like identifying and grooming and encouraging players/teams/persons. They should be properly coached by dynamic coachers. Fitness concerns should be properly addressed to. Above all, the identified ones should be equipped with required infrastructure at all levels. If everything is done carefully and with encouragement, one can hope to achieve targets in the next Olympics!

First India has to get rid of being called a cricket crazy nation. more stress has to be laid for the development sports like boxing, wrestling, shooting etc where Indians have talent and that has to be nurtured to yield better results. Moreover more funds has to come from the government for the betterment of such sports. Not only that people have to change their outlook towards these sports. They have to realize that cricket is not the only sport we should boast of. most importantly more funds should be sanctioned for hockey which is our national sport.

yes dear abhishek111 thanks for responding to the discussion.
yes we need to do things seriously. a long term focussed strategy has to be developed. stress has to be laid on the individual development after the talents are spotted at an early age then only we can expect to achieve some results!!!

I think that the 2012 Olympics will have a hard time shadowing the Beijing Olympics. So much money and effort was pumped into the Beijing Olympics.

Stay in Present, have Past in your hands and look Future from your eyes.
