Sleeping late and growth of hair

Has anyone noticed this.I am just wondering why,i notice it with my husband who sleeps around 2 or 3 in the morning working in his computer.Say he shaved on Saturday after 3 or 4 successive days of sleeping very late he's beard is something like half millimeter.And it looks so dirty on his face-we argued,told him to sleep early once in a while.He said it's not true the beards grows fast because he was stressed with his work.Who between me and hubby is right?Kindly share your thoughts or ideas.Good day and happy posting!
