the connection has timed out and found out that the topic you tried to post earlier was already posted just seconds ago?
Argh!! It feels terrible! That just happened to me now. After I finish typing my post and was trying to submit it internet problems occured and the connection has timed out. I did tried to redo the whole topic cause anyway I don't have to retype it cause I have made used of the copy feature to be safe but another idea popped out of my mind and was thinking that maybe it would received more responses than the other topic and so I decided to submit the new one.
I waited a little while and not immediately posted my first topic instead I browsed for another discussion to respond to and boom! There it was?! The topic that I was just trying to post was already posted just seconds ago. If no internet problem occured then I would have posted it earlier than the other user.
Its really disappointing and sad at this moment. I kinda feel angry on myself for not redoing the previous topic first rather than making a new one. But theres nothing I can do now. Well we don't really have the very same topic and I can still post it but you know somehow they are related and I don't like the other user to feel that I got the idea from her post.
Sigh.. If I were you will you try to post it again or just make another topic?

OhhhhYes I can relate, as i'm sure many others do.
There has been a quite a few times where i've been mulling over a thought, gone crazy on the keyboard , to find a similar discussion and or have lost the lot, because of 'computer / internet 'glich'.
Never seem to rewrite it as well as the first.
As far as 'someone elses idea', well I didn't think there were copyright laws on general trains of thought.
Unless a person is blatently (can't think of the word, lol) copying anothers work, then, I suppose it's everyones right to say what they want.
Yeagh, maybe could have responded instead of starting new topic, but as you say,it's not like you can see all topics at the time of posting. If that makes sense...?
i try and think of it as, there's someone out there that is thinking the ame as me at the same time! I reckon thats pretty cool :)
P,L,&MBs
P.S. I have also seen someone elses post, saying the same as what i've wanted, so I let it go., or respond to theirs.

This happened to me several times already.
There were instances when the connection timed out. There were also times when I was automatically logged out. In certain instances, power interruption.
Quite very often this happens I am in the mood for posting as many responses and discussions as possible. I do not know but for some reasons I can't explain, such problems occur when I am in the middle of encoding or a fraction of a second before I hit on the submit button.
