Big Brother 10: Did you think last night's HOH competition was fair?

Okay, first of all, I am NOT a Jerry fan and I know a lot of people dislike the guy. But I think the producers of this show really skew the competitions to favor who they want to win HOH. There was no way Jerry would be able to win last night's competition (I am not saying who won the HOH, but check our Cotjo's report for that info). For those of you who missed it, the houseguests had to hang from swinging vines and were then pummeled into a wall. I don't know what the wall was mad of, but they were getting pounded pretty good. Jerry is 75 years old. Other players are 50 years younger than him. Do you think this was a fair competition? Is there such a thing as a fair competition between a 75 year old and a 25 year old?

Sorry to say Big Brother competions are really never going to be fair. Some are going to excel in things where others will fail in it. But in all honestly I couldn't care less if it was fair for Jerry or anything else being fair in this game. WE all know what Big Brother is about and Jerry even being 75 still wanted to come into this game and play. With him being the oldest houseguest ever to be on this show I will give him that much and actually trying comps and winning things as well. As for as it being fair and if he don't like it. Well sorry he will have to suck it up as he knew before he even came into the house.

Yes, I agree, he knew what he was getting into. But let's face it, Big Brother has never had a 75 year old contestant. The producers should take that into account when planning the comps. He's at a great disadvantage in some of these endurance competitions-- basically he doesn't have a chance. Yes, I know everyone hates Jerry- I don't like him either- but they could have saved that competition for after he gets booted out. Just my opinion.

The only thing I questioned when I watched it and the rain started pouring down was how come Dan was dressed for the occasion. He had a jacket on, put his hood up, gloves on his hands. Did he just figure it was an endurance competition and thought it could be a long cold night so I better dress accordingly? I thought it was a quite a coincidence. But then, Dan's no dummy. As someone else said, Jerry has seen Big Brother. He knows about the competitions and he is also supposed to be a big tough army guy. He had no less advantage than any of the girls.

Hmm... well, I'd say Dan is a smart cookie. He planned ahead. Very smart guy! Man, I'm not getting any agreement on this at all- I just don't think it was fair. Sure he knew what he was getting into but c'mon...

No I don't think it was a fair competition, but what we need to understand is Jerry might be old, but he also works out a lot and is a pretty healthy 75 year old. On that note... Jerry also had to sign papers and even had to pass a medical test before even being able to apear on BB10 due to the activities/competitions. He knew what he was going into and the competitions are put together before the houseguest were even picked to join the house from what I hear. It takes a lot of planning. But who knows really? All I know is everyone in the house knew what BB is about and thats that.

I am not a jerry fan at all and I thought he did great at the competition. He stayed on quite long! He was a marine, so he must be strong mentally and I think alot of these challenges are mental. You have to put your mind in a certain state to be able to tollerate being tossed against a wall! I am guessing that they challenges are all set before the season begins, so they aren't really made to be easier for certain houseguests and harder for others.

I do sort of think it was fair because, all of their endurance competitions are going to be harder on some than on others. And, Jerry says he has seen every episode so he knew, going into the house, that it would mean some difficult competitions. If he didn't think he could handle it, or didn't think it would be fair, he would have probably opted out of being a part of the show. So, He knew what he was getting into. Yea, he didn't really have a chance in heck of winning but, neither would I have and I am 35.

True, and I agree to a degree, but I think last night was a bit much. The guy had zero chance.

i think its bs.. half of their competitions have been really really physical ones.. yeah thats nice for jesse, memphis, and who ever is strong for that week but then there are people that have problems such as jerry, renny, ollie, etc.. at least they do have some question ones but still.. i know i wouldnt win any of them because i cant be physical like that.. it would almost be pointless for me to be on the show since face it you really need to win SOMETHING somewhere to show that you are wanting to play the game lol.. i think that was ollies downfall

Jerry is one of my favorites. I think the competition was fair. Jerry knew what he was getting himself into when he audition for the show. And besides, isn't Jerry a war vet. In his younger days he went through basic training, so maybe he still go it.

I think the game was fair. They have had comps like this throughout the whole exsistance of the show. I think what would have been unfair is if they didn't do that comp or anything other comps that Jerry "can't win". Because they have never changed the game for or to fit anyone else who should they now? But on the note of this I do want to say that when I first saw them get slammed into a wall I cringed, mostly for Jerry. I don't really favor Jerry at all or the way he has treated people but my heart did go out to him a little bit watching him hit that wall...
