I think your happiness is key to measuring success, not what others think. I am happy working at a nursing home making the residents happy. How about you?

Well I believe happiness is the meaning of life so i guess your own happiness is what makes you successful, a lot of people would say money and position but they are only things that in their mind will bring happiness which id doesn't always do...

I'm also in the health care business. I work hard at trying to make the people I work for happy, although at times I wonder if I'm very successful at it. I just feel I don't do enough for them. Thus, I don't always feel very successful. But that's probably all in my head. For me, real success is how I commit to my spiritual life. I think that's more important than acquiring money or properties, or how famous someone can be, or how powerful they can be. Also, being able to touch the souls of others, somehow plant a seed, so that they also can begin some sort of spiritual quest, so that they can actually take control of the difficulties they have in their lives. So many sick people think there is no hope, that they have no control, or choice, to better their lives. I'd love to show them that there is hope, and that they can do something for themselves. If I can do that, I feel a little more successful.

Some people measure success by how much money they make compared to others, by how many people look up to them, by how high the are on the career ladder. I would measure success by having achieved a life in which I'm completely happy. No amount of money, no stardom, no high profile career is worth a dime, when you are not happy with where and who you are.

I also measure my success by my happiness and what I learn in my life. Occupation has nothing to do with my success, I am a senior in high school and I work at wal-mart in retail, but I am very happy. My job is only temporary and I will have a better one after I am educated completely, but at my job I am earning money that will be used to go to college, and also used to go to Sweden this December for a month to see my boyfriend again and experience the culture, he came here last time so it will be my first time in Sweden and we will also go to Spain and Germany, I am so young and I am already reaching my life dreams, to learn languages and travel the world with my own money and no one else's help, I feel great about myself and my life, and I am as happy as can be! I feel successful with happiness and a good head on my shoulders, I am not worried about where my life will take me so much on the career ladder, I just want to be happy and soak up information in my life, career comes last, but I won't neglect it in my life, other things will have the priority stamp placed on them though haha. Happy mylotting, and I wish you happiness in everything else you achieve in life, because that is true success for those who have a good heart!
