The Pittsburgh Penguins had a rough ending last season with its 4th loss in the finals vs. the Red Wings. With the few additions and losses to the team including Malone, Ruutu, Laraque, Satan, and a few others. How do you guys think the team will do this year? I know myself and many others are die hard Pens fans and I hope we can start off the season well. I just hope Hossa is a bust for the Wings :P

Don't hate me but I am both and Wings fan and a Pens fan.I think it will take half a season for the new Pens to gel but I can see them make the playoffs. It all depends on the chemistry between the coaches and the players old and new.

first off... HOSSA WAS A RENTAL, get over it. He never claimed to even want to play for the Pens. He had made it know for some time he loved the system in Detroit. You should be praising the man for not going with the money, but instead going with his heart.
Ok now thats said. Pens aint getting any help Gonchar is out till feb at the soonest now. Sadly it didnt look like Pittsburgh was doing much to bet the loser curse. Remember teams that lose in the finals have been droping to the cellar the following year. last season off season wasnt that easy on the core of the team, and dont get to comfy as there is 10-12 free agents agian next offseason.
Due to weakness in the East Pitt should still make the playoffs though baring another long term injury like Gonchars. I look for Therien to be on a very short leash too. Last year in the finals he looked lost and confused. not a pretty look.
