A couple of weeks ago I showed you guys the wedding cake that I made for my daughter. Well one of the ladies that was there (grooms side) asked me to make the cakes for a formal banquet at her church. She wants petit fours. 150 of them. I'm suppose to meet with her next weekend to discuss the different types of fillings that she would like. She's also trying to decide if she wants white cake or pound cake. I've only ever had them with white cake. So tell me guys...what fillings do you prefer in a cake? White cake or pound cake? I'm adding the picture that she sent to me to show me what she wants (except she wants all white instead of 2-toned).

I love white cake with strawberry filling. White cake is also delicious with a fluffy chocolate filling is quite yummy too. I think pound cake might be too heavy. Chocolate with a light creamy filling is good too. I wish you the best of luck. Maybe this will be the start of a fantastic new career for you!

I think the pound cake will be to heavy too. I'm really hoping that I can convince her to do the white cakes. She is wanting 3-4 different fillings. The only ones that she has mentioned so far is strawberry and lemon.

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work. I hope you are getting paid good. I think I would prefer the white cake over the pound cake. I have bought petit fours before in a box. My son loves all of them, but he likes the ones covered in white best.

These will be covered in my homemade white fondant. And I'm making the little roses out of fondant too. I've had to go ahead and start making those little buggers. lol

I've never had petites four made with pound cake. All of the ones I've ever had were made with sponge cake. I love the white sponge cake ones with a layer of lemon creme or raspberry sauce all wrapped up in delicious fondant. I could probably eat 150 in one sitting!
Congrats on the order! Good thing is that they freeze well, so you could probably make them well in advance.
