During fiestas, barangays usually hold programs and dance balls at night until about 2:00AM or so. In our place, when there is fiesta, I couldn't sleep because of loud music playing on the street. It really irritates me, because I need to sleep and rest for next day's work. I just don't like loud music, it's noise pollution to me already. Can you sleep with loud music?

i can not sleep with music on. i have to have the tv on though. if i sleep with music on then i end up singing all night long. i am not really a loud music kind of girl. however, i have gotten use to hearing some music because my son is a dj, and there is always music going on in my house. now that he just left for college it is so quiet in here.

Me I can really sleep with loud music as long as its my favorite music or my kind of music but if its loud music like that.. then I wouldn't really get to sleep and just get irritated. That is hard to have all the programs in your community to be held near your place.. lots of disturbances.

No, I can't sleep with any noises around me, music, construction noise, lawnmowers, loud talking, etc. I need silence to sleep.
I don't have a problem with loud music though - I love dancing and music. But I think past 11:00 pm you should turn it down if you are having a party so your neighbors can go to sleep. I think if you play really loud music - so loud that it bothers your neighbors - that late then that is just rude.
Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

I agree. I have to have complete silence to sleep. I can't stand people that crank up their music loud especially early in the morning or late at night.

hi djoyce!
if its that kind of music i usually will have a hard time sleeping. there's a wide area in front of our house which is a common place where certain activities of our neighborhood are held. recently, my niece's debut was held there and of course it was a night event so there was still a lot of noise until midnight. i had a hard time sleeping and had less sleep.
when it comes to loud music like alternative rock, rock to slightly metal, pop rock, i can sleep while listening to it. ^__^;; sometimes i even fall asleep easily even if i'm listening with this kind of music, the headphones on my head while i'm lying on bed. its like a lullaby.

I know what you mean, whenever the church has their fiestas, their music goes on until midnight. I don't mind the music, but it also depending on what kind of music they play. If they play that ugly mexican music, It's instand bad mood. Just last week my husband told me that the neighbors had their music full blast. from 9am to late at night. I was glad I wasn't home or Iknow I be in a very bad mood.

Oh, no. If there is too much noise in the street, it will keep me up. Maybe a "white noise" machine might help a little.. but probably not if it is a full scale fiesta in the street.

No, I cannot sleep with loud music or even soft music. I need darkness and as near to absolute silence as possible. Many need a radio tuned to soft music, but I never became accustomed to that.

I normally like it quiet when I sleep and like the lights off too. I can handle the sounds of apartment life, footsteps, toilets flushing, and the sound to a nearby train rattling everything and blowing its horn but I too would be bothered by loud music in the area.

Definitely NOT. When I lived in Makati and Sta. Ana, Manila, that was pretty much the kind of neighbourhood I had to deal with. I needed sleep so bad because at the time I had the night shift and it's so hard to sleep during the day already without all the noise pollution going on. Sometimes I'd much prefer staying in an inn or hostel for a good 12 hours just to get some decent sleep.

I don't like it either. It is quite annoying and I can't be asleep when there is music aloud. I think in this situation I will lie awake deep into the night and I will be sleepy all the following day. Actually I don't like any music. I want to sleep in a quiet place.
