Do you remember when you were told by your parents a children story before bed? What story are they? Are those story somehow inspire you to love reading a book?

Yes, my mother used to read to me when I was a child. She read to me some illustrated bible stories. I'm not sure if that is what started my love for reading, but I"m grateful to her for teaching me how to read. I have been an avid reader since I was a child, and though I don't have kids, I love sharing books with other people and encouraging everybody I know to discover the pleasures of a good book.

Keep doing it (sharing a knowledge by sharing a book with other people). I believe that 'a good people always have a happy future'...

I don't have a good memory and I can't remember all these stories. Perhaps my parents seldom told stories when I am a kid and they cared my in their own way. But now I can listen my father telling stories to my sister's kid every night. They are about some animals and quite interesting. The kid has cultivated a good habit of reading books every day.

I remember nursery rhymes.. but one story I remember my mother reading to me, and can't find it anywhere, is called..Little one-eye, little two-eyes, little-three eye. I'll never forget that.. (I miss my mother) but the story or any other when I was a child did not inspire me to read, in fact, I hated reading until really late in life.. when I was in the middle 30's I started to read books more than what I ever had before and picky on what type of stuff I read.. alot of things just don't hold my attention so I definately stear clear of many catagories.

I do believe there is no such word `late` in starting a good habit, including reading a book. The hardest part in doing something we dont used to it is when we have to start it. Without motivation, interest or attention, it is hard to start reading a book. Thank you.

I'm sure my parents did read to me at night time but they must have stopped at a very early age as I cannot reember either my mum or dad reading me a bedtime story. I do try to read to the children at bedtime and i really want them to remeber me reading to them.

Well I want to inspire my daughter to read by reading a bed time story, that is why I start this discussion. I hope by reading a story, I can give her a motivation to enjoy reading a book at her early age.
