with the trends today, i think people get used to with the used of modern technology. computers, laptops, palmtops, and others are just everywhere and around the corner. but, there are still people who like to use typewriters anyway. do you know one? in my workplace, my friend uses it when she's completing her stocks requisitions. hahaha

Yes, I still use typewriter when needed. And I'm proud to say that I own one. It's my antique collection, LOL.
I learn my typing skills thru this antique typewriter. I use my typewriter when filling out forms. It's hard to type them using computer. Forms that need to be filled up.
When I use my typewriter in the office. Nobody will fall asleep with that kind of noise.

Yes! In my country in Africa, many government offices still use the typewriter. Also in some high schools. It is still important and useful recently we bought the ready prepared certificates to give to Children. So we had to look for someone who has a typewriter so that the names of Children would be printed, and it did helps and cheap I also have mine and I like using it we have a saying in that says "Whoever leaves a culture is a slave" also another saying is "don't push back the latter to fall down the latter that you used when climbing up because you will need it when coming down" even the Christian Bible says do not despise the humble begining. We should put away and forget what we use earlier.

You must have seen those old telephones, so big, black and their hand receiver were too heavy and then came the dialing ones in which you have to stick your one finger and move it along on every number. Same is the case with typewriters. Many new technologies have come and while using MS Office, no one can remember typewriters. The same work of paper editing was done on typewriters before, with rubbers rubbing on every mistake and now just use backspace on MS Excel or MS Word, alter any mistakes and then print the final version. Here, in my country, Pakistan, if you go to the courts, you still see lawyers and their staff using same old typewriters. But in offices, you can't see any typewriters now. They are obsoleted now and put in the museums.

Gosh I haven't used a typewriter in over 10 years I would say. I learned to type on one but I can't imagine using one anymore now with computers and all. I do know that some business - small family owned businesses - still have typewriters for their employees to use. I can't imagine why though. And I would think that it is very hard to find ribbons and correction tape for them nowadays.
Here is something weird - I am watching Stephen King's "The Shining" right now and Jack Nicholson is typing on the typewriter right now. Kind of creeped me out actually!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

It's very old and out dated way of writing,i can't imagin myself still using the type writter to write, although i might consider using one if the needs arises.
In film making ,if you need to get a scene of some years back, you might need a type writter for an Office setting. This might be more expensive to buy than even some new computers we see these days.
