I could pretty much tell that I was. I have a family history so I know what to look for and I talked my Dr. and he diagnosed me.

Hi kwenge
This is a topic which do not like to talk about but I feel the more we talk about it the more better we get. We must talk it out. Sharing, caring, supporting and loving really help us overcome. Having said this, its very tough to let go. Healing power of love could be useful but of during severe bouts in which case we must seek expert's opinion. There are several new techniques that help us fight it.
In my case I have always tried a few things:
1. letting go and ignore
2. letting go my ego and hurts, hatreds
3. giving it time and space.
4. living the moment

This is something that I have been through myself in the past and it was thankfully the watchful eye of my Mother that ultimately encouraged me to go and seek an opinion from a professional. It was the best thing I could have done at the time! I am happy to say that this phase of my life is way behind me now but by swallowing my pride and taking the steps I did, my world at the time became far more bearable. Depression is not something we should ever be ashamed of and it is not a sign of weakness. Sometimes we need some help to change the way we think and feel and a period of medication and/or therapy can make all the difference!
