Norton Antivirus in my honest opinion is the worst anti virus to use subeesh. It consumes a hell lot of resources and slows down the computers working a lot. McAfee is a million time more better than Norton since it consumes lesser resources and the PC runs pretty much smoothly. However the best i would suggest you to use which i use st the moment is ESET NOD32 Internet Security. It is a very powerful anti virus detector and hardly consumes any of the computers resources and thats one of its greatest features. Been using it for quite sometime now without and problems and 1st class performance. Frankly speaking i have no clue why people go in for Norton Antivirus. I have 2GB of RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor which can run it as smoothly as ever but still never use it.

Virus protection programs are a personal preference My preference is Norton I like the look and feel plus I dont know where you go that the definitions dont get upgraded they are. Problem with Norton is it is Memory intensive Thus I am using McAfee does the same job just the same and is not as memory intensive

yes! the problem with norton is that it will slow down ur pc a lot. But the plus is that, norton is better in detecting viruses than any other antivirus software i have seen. If the system is cleared by an updated norton you can almost be sure that the system is free from viruses! I like the performance of AVG, its both lite and effective... but not as good as norton. The best thing to do would be to install notron do a through scan and disable it. And use AVG for the rest of the time.

I've tried many different antivirus programs, including Norton, McAfee, and AVG. The one I'm currently liking the best is Avast...

I prefer NOD32. New updates almost everyday great detector and I never had one system down or a virus. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I download and test a lot of freeware on the net and I have never had anything that have attacked my Computer.
