For months the new vocalist of the band Journey was a talkabout.
Do you believe that they can reach the same level of popularity just like before?

I don't think they will reach the same status as before. I'm very skeptic when bands get new front men or any new player but I have to admit that this new singer is pretty amazing. He does have the voice of Journey that was set in the 70s and being 40 and a fan since I was 13, I'm impressed with the new singer.
Now what Journey need to do which to me would be so awesome would be to revisit the days of Evolution/Infinity days; that would make one kick butt CD.

i don't think that they can ever reach the popularity that they reached in the hayday its just impossible. they cemented themselves in that era, and they should be just fine with leaving it that way.

i m a fan of journey since i was about 15 or 16 years old.Infact Journey is one of my all time favourite band.. No doubt Arnel has is good but i still think it's hard to replace Steve "the voice" Perry. It will all depends on their new materials and how fans can accept it.So far i think their new track "all these years" is great and if they can produce more songs like this they might reach the top again.....

Nope, not without Steve Perry. He made that band. I will not even buy a video or album without him in it. The group is nothing without him, but that is my own selfish opinion. I adore Steve Perry.

I really don't think that history will repeat itself for Journey now with Ariel on the vocals as when Steve was still in the band. Although Ariel (he's also a Filipino like me..and I'm proud he's the man from this group) sounds great, I still look for the 'it' factor that the old Journey group has before. But nevertheless, they will still be a group to hear for, for this music genre.

Can't tell. Old Journey fans (like me) will always associate the band with Steve Perry. However, with the new fans who has no idea who Steve Perry is, maybe it would. I guess, only time will tell.
