What Do You Do when in Depression

Whenever I come across unfortunate happening I get disturbed and depressed. During this I become desperate and I use to look for some people to whom I could discuss and clear my air. Usually I went out to a public park for a walk or to a Religious place to pray god.
I have registered with the my lot for the last one and half months and I am at my lot for at least for 2-3 hours daily. I find that my lot is such an place where we have the privilege air our happenings and agonies and get some relief. To me when in depression the my lot is platform where we can console our self by expressing our problems and get relief by reading the responses we receive.
What do you do when in depression. Please share with the my lotters.

...when i'm depressed...i usually quarrel my bestfriend and make the small issue into bigger one until she will cry.... and sometimes, i eat........any kinds of food.

Whenever I am depressed,I usually goto my terrace and listen to music at a high volume. It helps to heal a lot. Music takes out all the poison that a depressed person has in his mind.
Sometimes going for a walk alone or taking your pet along also helps.

Hello sweethomecatring,how are you doing? What you do when you in depression is great.I think most people do that when they in depression. Usually,I will calm down or listen to some music or just chat with some friends,it 's very useful to me.The more importment,I guess,is to avoid being in depression,just adjust myself to the surroundings,not to be agony.

Hi friend,Everone has to face depression some time or other.So to clear ourselves from depression we need something or someone.Some clear it through interacting with their friends,lovers and some turn to food and some console themselves.What I used to do is surf the net ,but now I come to mylot.Happy mylotting.

Hi, nice to meet you here.
The main reason of that i will get depression just because of my study. Everytimes, i very worry about my study. So,when I'm in depression i will listening to music and make me calm down. If it does not work, i will hang out with my friends and tell them my problems let them give me support and some ways to overcome it. Have a nice day and happy my lotting!

When im depressed i just sleep off sometime and pray to Almighty and tell about my problem to HIM, most of the problems couldn't be spoken out to friends or parents whomever as of i've seen in my life no one is trustworthy except GOD.. but im very nice person that im very confidential with others problem.. sharing here in mylot about our problem is something different that to share your problem with friends or any persons whom you meet daily in life because the person who are close to us are not really trustworthy as to my experience if i have any sorrow i share it with my guy if i have any bitterness within him and me i keep silent.. but somehow miraculously all my problems are being solved by GOD'S grace.. and yes even i just divert my mood by listening to songs etc.. i like to councel / comfort others when they are in problem..

I'm actually quite depressed right now. I have some problems at home and I need to solve it quickly. So home is not a place for me to find relief from my depression, I'm afraid. I usually try to take a walk or just get out of the house in order to clear the air. I pray that everything will be resolved soon and hope to be back to my real self again. myLot has been a refuge too. I have posted my problem and gotten many responses which has helped me seek a solution to my problem. So far, I have Plan A and Plan B and I hope one of them will work! If they don't work, I think I might run away!

See all have different reasons for dipression...often all ignores the cause of dipression and try to use different ways to cure it .
I mean if you ignore the cause and try other things it wont wokr much ......becasue cause needs to be addressed .....and nothing else
Walking, running,meeting friends wont help much if u ignore the cause of dipression

I can't say that is a depression, but maybe I'm just feeling so bored and alone...so, i just kept myself busy for what things I'd like to do,enjoy it or just ask my friends to go out to the place that is good to see and can make me feel better.

Whenever I am depressed I like to write poems, go for walks, do yoga, or vent to people, usually my boyfriend. i also like to watch tv when I am depressed, but that usually doesn't help. Mylot is a good way to vent, but I usually don't like to share so much info about my life with strangers.

It really depends. When I have minor depressions, I eat sweets and other foods until I get bloated. If major, worst thing I did was. Banged my head on the wall. And the most recent, cut my hair.

I am indeed in depression sometimes because of weather or failure, and it is a painful experience. I will call the girl I love best, she will console me. I like to hear her soft voice which can pacify me magically and I will be happy soon. My female friend does help me a lot.

look in this world every on faces depression.
this is no new to this world but the the thing is how we handle the situation by our selves . but I think we all have to recover the depressin first we have to find the route of it and if we statr to go on clearing form the first da we can survive becase a little start we neglect but when it come to a peak level we are of nowhere so if we want to get rid of thiswe have to start from the graassss root of our life so we can live somwhat understandin we can star from the childhood . this willl give us the power to handle it very essily, and so we can over come through very easily.

Hello! Depression?....it is a common thing now a days.As we are becoming more ambitious and do not achieve success or fail to reach the goal we become stressed or depressed.In such case just indulge in talk with your friends or well wishers and vent your feelings and emotions.verbalize your problems.the more you bottle up,the more you will find it difficult to find hope.Go for a walk.try coming close to the nature and feel the sand in the beach,the texture of the petals......appreciate God's creations.come home, take a dep breath and visualise all that you just saw and felt.try to meditate for some time.besides all these have good diets.carbo-rich diets could be good for combating crankiness.eating carbohydrates boosts your levels of triptophan and serotonin -- the two feel good brain chemicals.another important nutrient you need to fight depression is Vitamin B6,found in meat and fishand liver,whole grains and vegetables.I was benefited with this,so suggesting you to follow the procedure and get the benefit. thanx.

I usually cry, and many bad thoughts go through my head, but by God's grace, I can
sometimes recognize when I'm getting Bipolarish, and in turn try to distract my mind with other things like prayer, BIBLE reading, watching a good Pastor on TV, go watch a Christian movie, going to a great Christian website, listening to Christian music, or at times I do some secular things like, secular music, movies,
websites, etc., but it's best to do the God thing, when depressed. Think about it
, if not for God, you wouldn't even be alive to feel in the first place. Everyone, but especially, those prone to mental illness, should put God first in all they do.
But not let it become a distraction from other responsibilities. The God thing is what people remind me to do, when depressed.

I don't really get depressed that often. When I'm feeling down..just doing the things I enjoy most help perk me up. Reading, watching a funny movie, writing and listening to music. What works the best is surrounding myself with those I love. My family always seems to be able to put things in a whole new perspective for me.
Hmm..maybe that's why I don't find myself depressed too often?

One of the best things i do if i'm depressed is call up my closest pal or meet up with the person and talk it out with them and i feel much better trust me. It really helps when u share your problems and worries with others. It makes you feel much lighter.
When many of my friends are depressed or feel kinda low they talk it out with me and i try to pacify them.
Also at times i just try to ignore it, think positively and take some time away alone to get over it. I usually never stay depressed for more than a day.
