Right decision

I think That only BCCI doing this step is not enough for our sportsman spirit of oue country is not enough because, you just think, is there only the cricket that is only the game of our country, what about the rest of the games /football/ hockey/wrestling/boxing/running etc. Has any one givien any fund towards them no because we are so related to cricket we left behind all other sports behind, so for that we were not able to get any medals in any international games (olimpics) this time after so long we only got 3 medals 1 goald & 2 Bronze. is that enough for our country which has got a population of 100 to 30 crores more than that I think or goverment should take initiative to come out and help the athletic of the other streams so in the future we can get more medal in olympics. So i request our sports authuorities to take a serious look into this matter. Or we are going to face this typy of embrasment year after year KUMAR

I dont think it is a encouraging gesture of BCCI. If it really wanted to encourage other sports it would have supported some palyers before start of Olympics, instead of giving awards to just winners. Almost all of other sporting bodies in India donot have money to spend on training their sportsmen.They are simply sending people by just conducting competitions and sending the winner of the day.It is just trying to reduce criticism aimed at it. Also the financial genius of BCCI Lalith Modi would have suggested it for some tax benefits.
