Dilemma about taking pills for depression.

I am just curious how others might deal with this. I am a disabled 30 year old female who has been told that I should consider taking depression pills. Now do not get me wrong I have my good days and my bad. However, the things I am more or less depressed about will not change or go away just because of a pill. So I ask you in this situation would you take the medication or just try to be more positive an hopeful? That is what I am presently doing. I know you are not doctors and do not want you to tell me not to take or to take the pills. I just want some unbiased feedback on the subject itself. Thanks in advance for your feedback and opinions.
