Do you think american shop to much?

Welcome to myLot, newbie! Isn't it the job of every American to overdo everything? We shop too much, eat too much, talk too much, play too much, and on and on. Sometimes it seems as if the motto of the US should be, "Gimme More!" How wonderful it is that we can do things to extremes! We're not oppressed or incapable. We have it all and we want more, and we're smart enough to figure out how to live as we wish! Self-indulgence isn't inherently evil, and spoiled is a lovely way to be!

Not all of us but i'm sure there are some out there to shop way more than they need to. My sister would be one of them, shoes being her one weakness. She has an intire closet devoted to them. She has shelf covered in shoes and a shoe rack hanging behind her door. I can gaurentee that she dosen't not wear all of them. I was over her house one time and when she went to put away a new pair of shoes she had gotten and when she went to put them away she realized she already had a pair just like them. I would have gone for help after that but she just chuckled and said oh well these things are bound to happen. Now i'm not saying everyone is as bad off as her at least I hope not but there has to be other out there like her.

Well part of the reason we shop is that is good for our econonmy. Plus we have the money so why shouldnt we shop? Actually, alot of americans are not doing that well these days with th state of the economy so I'm not sure how much excess shopping is going on. I be sure to a stop to it if I see it. lol.

It's the American way. We do everything BIG! And I love it! Anyway who decides what is too much? If I can afford it, I can have it. Who ever said that you go and work your butt off and only get your needs? I don't have to NEED something in order to make a purchase. The only needs in life are shelter, food and water. Everything else is a want! And I want my fair share.
