California banned smoking in public places years ago. Up to and including in jail. They have now begun passing ordinances that you are not allowed to smoke within either 50 ft or 20 ft (depending on the city) of a door leading to a public building, or that you cannot smoke within 100-500feet (again depending on city) of the entire building. Some businesses take it seriously, some put up no smoking signs within the designated smoking areas, and some have gone rabid. An airline that services our area Alaska air, adds to it's employment adds that they are a nicotine free workplace enviroment and will not hire smokers. What do ya think about all that?

wow, australia hasnt gone that far yet. sometimes when you walk out of a shopping centre you get a mouthful of smoke from people standing at the door smoking. is so rude

never smoked. and i recently was diagnosed with lung cancer. i went for further testing and was found to have something called sarcoidosis instead. but, it was scary for those weeks.
my mother smoked for 42 years and is now on oxygen. she carrys it around with her. we call it her boyfriend.
2 of my children & 2 nephews smoke and my mother rides their a*ses about it all the time.

i work in a high school and it's amazing the amount of kids that smoke.
when my husband and i get a chance to go out, we always go to a place in town. of course, the smoke is terrible. i can spend the night drinking water and talking and still wake up with a hang over. i swear it's the smoke.
please, tell me you don't smoke or that you are quitting.

Smoking is horrible and shouldnt be allowed anywhere even in the home, the risks to yours and others health is high.

Yeah, sadly I do smoke. I think it is a terrible bad habit. your hair, hands and clothes stink and bad for health and breath, although I know all, I'm addicted to my craven 120 menthol and do not plan to stop soon.
I do try to be conciderate to other non-smokers and will not abuse their space.

I don't smoke, but I've been passive smoking all my life, my parents both smoke and so does my partner, he's been trying to give up, but we have a flatmate who smokes and he works in a pub, so until he can get away from smokers then I don't think he'll be able to quit, but he has tried and I've got him a quitters pack now to try and help him some more, he's tried patches and the nicorette stick and neither have really worked.

My husbands smokes I don't. I am trying really hard to get him to quit. I don't like to kiss him after he smokes. It's gross. I also don't like it when he smokes right before bed. It feels like he stinks up the bed like smoke. :( I live in NY and they don't allow smoking indoors of any public building and I really like that. Nothing is worse to me than going out to eat in a restaurant where people are smoking. Or going to a bar or club and coming home smelling like an ashtray.

nope I dont smoke and never have, I think its a disgusting habit, and I really hate the excuse "I'm going to die of something", thats such a copout! Makes me so angry!

I am a smoker, i have tried giving up lots of times but have always failed, i just wish that i could geive up, It is a nasty and horrible but i will stop one day

I am a smoker and regret the day I first started to smoke because it is so hard to give it up. However slowly I am but I cannot take the tablets or use the patches because of an allergy, so it is a case of reducing gradually. Cannot give them up all in one hit - tried that and I was completely unbearable to live with. LOL

No. I am not a smoker and I never smoke. I am sure my boy friend will not like a smoker. I think that a girl smoking is not attractive and look like bad girl. Beside this, smoking absolutely not good to our health and may cause many types of cancer, slow our reaction, heart problems, AIDs and many more. wasting money is another issue. Somebody said that they can enjoy by smooking, I am not sure because I never try it but I think there are many other ways to relax instead of smoking.

no,i doesnt like people who smoke they desnt know that,it is bad not only for their life but also for other, when they smoke they polute air & people sitting near them also get smoke partical in their breath.
so, think about this,it's a very bad habbit.
