Do you pluck or you rather shave?

It hurts plucking one's hair but I rather do it than shaving. They say shaving makes your hair thick, or is it just a myth. Although it takes up quite some time to pluck everything I still stick to it, there's some sort of art in it that I just like.

aw. that must hurt a lot. i NEVER pluck. i shave. it's a myth, that shaving makes your hair thick. anyways, if you shave often, it will not have a chance to get hick. PLUS, what I hate most about plucking is that it makes your skin look like chicken skin. unsightly, really.

Yeah it does look like chicken skin what I hate about shaving is that when it grows its kinda itchy. And I hate the feeling of that, it makes me feel awkward and uneasy.

I pluck my eyebrows but i shave my arms legs and bikini area, plucking in these areas would be mega painful - you must be a really tough girl if you do this!! hehe I am not sure if it makes the hair grow back thicker, i think on the legs perhaps it does but if you do it regularly it doesn't really matter anyway!! xxx

I only pluck my armpit hairs. I don't shave at all, not my legs nor that bikini area. My eyebrows is quite fine with me. I am not bushy like other girls and I don't swim coz I don't know how. Thanks munchkin547.

since i have a swimming class, i shave. but as much as possible, i try to grow my hair so that i can wax it for a good finish. shaving the hair does thicken the hair strand. and it can also quicken the hair growth, i 've tried it already :( but shaving is the most easy and accessible way to get rid of unwanted hairs in the armpits

What all do you pluck? Legs, brows, underarms? all of it? Don't that hurt? I pluck my eye brows and occasionally wax them when they start losing thier shape to much. I could not imagine the time it takes and the pain to pluck everything else. Does plucking last longer than shaving? I am to wimpy and lazy I think to do that lol.

As a man I always shave it to have a good proportion and design as well with my mustache but to my private part I always pluck although it is so painful but when you get used with it and the way to do it then absolutely it is the perfect way of removing my hair for it will not grow faster and everytime you keep on removing it the next time you will remove it will be thinner instead of using shave to make it thicker each time i do it so I stick on plucking my private hair....

I do a bit of both on my face I use tweezers and Something called emjoi Tweez'e that yanks alot of hair out buy the roots and makes them finer and lighter and if you use the gel that comes with it then you can be hair free for a few weeks. I shave my legs since it is faster and less painful and sometimes I use nair hair removal that helps also. I pluck my eyebrows. I have also used wax..which is less painful then plucking hair by hair..I have recently just purchased and waiting for it to come in mail something I seen on televison called Smooth Away that is supposed to be painless hair removal for all over the body and even works on men. So I am anxiously waiting for that to come in the mail. Happy plucking..

I have a pretty sensitive skin, and also plucking requirs a lot of time if you want to use it on larger areas of your body. Plucking can be good for your eyebrows because you can be more precise. Also, when you use the right technique and pull out the hairs fast it hurts a lot less. I don't think shaving will make your hair thicker or that it will grow back more hair (that's a myth too). I have hear that if you pluck your eyebrows for a long, long time, the hairs will become thinner and might completely stop growing (that's why one of my neighbours tatood hers). I am not sure whether or not this is caused just by plucking, but I have heard this story from multiple people?

I prefer shaving. I hear from some friends that plurking will cause cancer. So, I use shaving.

Well I am very lucky in that all of my 44 years I have never had to shave my legs. Regarding my under arms my husband always shaves them for me. Plucking sounds very painful in need.

I used to pluck. Now I don't see so well and I use cream hair removal. Much easier than plucking and less painful. Shaving is too scary for me.

I pluck my underarms and my eyebrows, that is, if I have the time. Sometimes, if I'm busy or if in a hurry I pluck. Thought plucking takes more time than shaving the hair is slower to grow than when you shave.

I think it depends on how sensitive your skin is. In my case, my skin is sensitive that I don't usually shave anymore because it darkens my skin. The only time I shave is whenever I don't have enough time to pluck. It takes too much time though, but if I really want to take care of my skin, then i'd have to do it the hard way. I shave my eyebrows though, but I sometimes pluck it, then again.. if only I have the time.

Are you saying that you pluck the hairs on your legs or under your arms? I don't think so. I only pluck my eyebrows and my legs and underarms I shave. I don't use Neat or anything like that because I found it burns my skin. So I stick to just shaving and I use a cheap cream rinse for my hair, to shave my legs and under arms. I read that somewhere that it works just as good and is a lot cheaper. So I went to the dollar store and bought some cheap dollar cream rinse and I have been doing it that way ever since. It really works and it keeps your skin nice and moist instead of drying out my skin with regular soap. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good day, Chris

I usually pluck when i have time..but when in haste, i use the razor.. Yeah, shaving makes the hair thicker and feels itchy at times too.. but, i also found out that plucking makes your armpit looks darker and sometimes like a chicken's skin, because our armpit gets traumatized too from the pressure of pulling the hair..Sometimes, it bleeds too if one is not careful..After the bleeding comes the darkening of the underarms..While shaving doesn't do that,if you're not putting too much pressure..In plucking, you tend to open up the pores deeper, in shaving, the first layer only and closes up fast..

Most of the time, I pluck but when I need an easier and faster clearance of my armpit's hair, I shave. I even tried waxing my armpit, its painfull yes but it took weeks before the hair grows back and its smoother and no chicken skin after but of course its way too expensive than other method...

I pluck thick hairs in my chin rather than shaving. because it is so obvious that you shaved. haha
