For Hainan Sanya,7 to 10 days are a little bit long and if in case you go there after New Year say Jan,2009.The weather here is pretty good!Recommendation:4 star. For some places of interests in China,I suggest Beijing,as the 29th Olympic had just closing,as the head of China,Beijing was prepared well for the Olympic, you can find quite comfortable being here, brand new buildings, tidy streets....Recommendation:5 Star For Taiwan & Thailand,I haven't been there before,no comment on them. For Asian Irlands,no comment as well.

Hey, to Beijing is a good idea. The year of 2006, I have lived there about 1 month with my sister. But most of places were half-colsed. For instance, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum, and Beihai Park, there was a sign " It will be blocked and re-bulit untill Nov of 2007" OR " untill March of 2008" for some view spots inside. So maybe it is a chance to know a brand new Beijing. However, it's cold in Beijing after New year, isn't it?

Considering you have 7 to 10 days to travel after the New Year period I suggest that you go to Thailand. You could get a flight to Bangkok for a few days having a look at the golden temples and colorful canals. You might be able to get some lovely handicrafts in the market there. An interesting day trip from there might be to Ayutthaya to see a summer palace. It used to be be the capital and it has a fascinating history. Next you could catch a train or a bus and then a boat over to on of the gorgeous islands for some rest and relaxation. Alternatively you could catch a train north an go and do some hill trekking. That would be really exciting and give you the chance to meet the local people and find out their culture. I don't know very much about Taiwan but that might be a lovely place to go for a week so it might turn out to be a great choice. Good luck deciding where you and your friends will go. Happy traveling.

I'd love to walk around the traditional markets and get some handicrafts. That is so great that you give us some advice. Wherever we go, we will totally, completely, eternally enjoy the cuture and custom there. Actually for travel, not the place matters, the feeling we are travelling does really matter.

hey, thanks! I have also been to HK late January, so I don't think I will go there next January, anyway, HK is quiet worth travelling. Yep, the budget is always the problem, and should be taken into consideration first. I am a fish in mylot, and I'm happy mylotting
