What time do your children go to bed?

My teenage boy is a night owl. I remember when he was young, I could tell time off his bedtime...9:30 p.m. ...the lights are out and everything's quiet. Nowadays, I hear him strumming on his guitar or clicking on his game controller or whispering on the phone beneath his bed covers. That's of course only when school is out. What time is bedtime for your kids?

Hi Anne18... My hat's off to you. If I get you right your in for a lot of rounds of rambunctious days with your two 8-year-old boys...and yet also some inspiring days of wonder and smiles in your heart. Is your 10-year-old a girl? I know the frustrations of telling boys what to do...it's like talking to a wall sometimes! It may seem that the body clocks of children are set with their own minds so somehow I hope our children will not take us wrong for always reminding them of their bedtime. Thanks for sharing...happy mylotting.

I have a teenage daughter & when school is in, she goes to bed at 10 pm. At least that is when her bedtime is . Some nights might be later than that. But summer time it seems like kids like staying up all night & sleeping all day.

hi!!!lucky your kid has grown up, my child is just 3yrs old.i tell you when he's tired he sleeps where he is playing or watching t.v. or eating.sometimes i've to search where he is.his bedtime is not fixed.in afternoon if he takes nap more than 2hrs then in the nite the timmings can be after 11pm.i'm thinking of joining him skating class in the evening so that he feels tired & sleep at proper bedtime & get up early for school.

Hi anita27... Lucky I may surely be, as most mothers can singularly profess too. My kid may be grown up, and even as yet with all the activities he has for a given day, he never seems to ran out of energy for staying up til 11 p.m. or 12 mn (even the wee hours of the morning) doing things. I guess there are just mothers that are a little more challenged in the bedtime scenario of her kids...lol. Thanks for sharing...happy mylotting.

Hello there. I like your question. But it's good that you have passed the "terrible-two-test-for moms" :).I was about to post a similar question because i am having difficulty trying to let my boys (one year old and two years old) stick to a healthy, normal sleep/nap schedule. They used to sleep at 8pm, and wake up at 7am. They have nap at 12noon and wake up at 5. Since we moved to the country of my husband six months ago, their sleep schedule has become erratic that I worry if they are getting enough. The children here, their cousins and their age (we are next door neighbors with the in-laws) sleep at 1am! and wake up at 12 noon or 1pm. Most of them don't take afternoon naps. Is this normal? For toddlers?

Hi pinkytabor... I read a magazine that says... "Most kids will continue to need their daily nap until they turn 3. (Some 5-year-olds continue to need it.) The transition from one nap to none can be slow and erratic -- a child may go for days without napping, then have a total meltdown one afternoon. To make the process easier, aim for "quiet time" each day instead of an actual nap. At the regular naptime, your child goes to his/her room and go through the regular naptime routine -- turn off the lights and close the shades, read books, whatever. They can either go to sleep or just play quietly." In the end, YOU know what's best mommy! Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting...
