I love chesse and onion toasted sandwiches and also cheese and ham, I am fine with the cheese and ham so I know it is not the cheese, but whenever I eat cheese and onion though afterwards I get a headache. I love onions in most things I eat and it only seem to be when raw rather than cooked that they give me a headache. A friend loves spicy food but it aggrevates there stomach so are there any foods you love but cannot eat? Ellie :D

The problem at my end is that all foods LOVE me! Maybe if they didn't then I wouldn't eat so much of it..... I am not aware of having any food allergies and my body seems to tolerate pretty much anything I put into it. I have always been adventurous with food too and have travelled a lot so I feel I have definitely given the stomach a damn good test in this regard as well! lol.

Hi Tamara, I have heard that chocolate and cheese can give you headaches but onions I really don't know why, I thought it was the cheese at first but realised I could eat cheese and ham toasties without getting one so i had to be the onion. Your are my punishment partner now apparently as we are both an hour away from him, my back up if I run out of puff chasing him LOL Huggles. Ellie :D

Hey, if my aunt cook the chicken or lobster, she won't eat it herself, that's strange. But yeah, some people do act like that.Grins

Oh wow, where do you want me to start!! I have absolutely loads of foods that I love but do not love me. I will give you a few examples, pork, beef, lamb, onion, tomato, cucumber, sometimes cheese, bread, sometimes chocolate, minced beef dishes, burgers, bran flakes, weetabix, certain crisps, Pizzas, those are some of the things that I can think of but I expect if I think about it I can come up with a few more. When I eat these things, I get terrible bellyache and feel ill for a few days.

Hi Gemini_rose, Wow that is very limiting, so perhaps it may be easier to tell me what you can eat. The only think I don't enjoy out of all you listed is cucumber, I just don' eat it, don't like it. Wow you must suffer from a lot of tummy aches, shame. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D

Yes it is bad, it is looking more like I have IBS and I have to say that it is not very nice at all. Right what I can eat, I can eat apples, bananas and porridge, I can eat, pasta in small amounts and I can eat chicken. At the moment what i normally eat in a day are two apples and a banana for lunch and then a bowl of porridge and fruit for my evening meal. Sometimes I can eat bits of things, so I tend to pick when I get fed up of porridge, I will just have a mouthful of something. When I just feel like "oh sod it, if i get bellyache tough" i will eat what i want and just hope that i dont suffer!!

oh babes we could be here all night with the list of what i'm not supposed to eat!
I can't have too much bread, too much diary, i am not suppoed to eat anything spicy, cranberrys double me over as do green grapes & kiwis. I can't have chilli or orange juice or anything to greasy. I don't avoid all of this but i try to just steer clear of the really bad ones like cranberry and grapes (i eat red grapes and cherrys instead weird i know). I just go in moderation or take tables before hand but i usually end up poorley with bad stomache pains or opposite and am on the loo. If i was a horse i'd have been put down by now.

LOL, love the title of your discussion!
Pineapple really hates me, it gives me stomache pains and if I really eat a lot I will get a rash too. I like it a lot though, I like the juice, the fruit itsself, I like it on pizza and I like it in sorbet ice-cream and icelollies.
So pretty much everything! I don't know what I did to make it mad at me but whenever I eat it, it attacks me! .
Caramel love me to, and I love caramel, nothing wrong there but I do have to be carefull as it also adds lots of lovely lovehandles if I don't watch what I eat LOL!

maybe if you just eat a few and that will do. i guess onions gives you a high. maybe it is raising your blood to a level where the body cannot tolerate. also increasing your libido, they say that onions are aphrodisiacs.

i am not being a devil's advocate but the reality is that we are only human and we have our biological needs. it is not a want, it is a need for our bodies to function physiologically well. it is good for our health and wellness.

Margarine. I know, I know it's not real butter and I don't usually like non-real foods...but it's delicious, brings back memories of being at Grandma's house...and more than a tiny amount makes me ill.
My stomach gets upset, which makes me dizzy.

Yes, I think different people have different food sensitivities. I once attended an allergy clinic and tested positive for eggs. Not entirely convinced that I was, I ate two eggs after stopping eating them for about a week and broke out in a ithcy rash. Other foods I need to watch, but not quite so sensitive to are tomatoes and potatoes, which apparently belong to the same food family. I can eat them OK, but not too many.

Honey roasted peanuts are my downfall. I love to eat them, but when I have too many or have them late at night, I get a major headache. I understand they are very hard on the digestive system and when mixed with other things are even harder to digest. I love them dearly, but I'm trying to limit my consumption.

That's weird that you get headaches from eating onions...I love onions (and garlic) and thank goodness never have that reaction. Most of my food problems will stem from them "repeating" on me...like green peppers, and bananas. Another symptom that a food might, uh, well, give me a bit of the runs....like for some reason spinach and I LOVE spinach

I can't think of a single food that I love or even like that hurts my stomach. I've never been a fan of bleu cheese, but my husband really likes it. So I make this fresh spinach salad that has toasted walnuts, bleu cheese, and a maple syrup dressing. It's delicious, and I don't even like bleu cheese!
But, one time, I ate quite a bit of the salad, and it made me very sick afterward. And I noticed that each time I ate the bleu cheese, it made me have a stomach ache. So now, I just make 2 separate salads and put cheddar on mine and the bleu cheese on my husband's.
And, I don't get sick anymore. So, I guess I should have stayed away from the bleu cheese in the first place!
