My four year old has not been listening to me..I don't know what I can do im tired of her being sneaky and ignoring me...When her step father asks her to do something she runs to me because she thinks she doesn't have to listen to him but I always tell her that what he says goes...Im not sure as to what kinds of punishments I can give her because the taking the toys away, and the time outs don't seem to work and I tried to spank her once but she was so stubborn that she didn't care and it made me feel bad.. I don't want to beat my child but I need some ideas....Im going nuts I just want to be a good mommy help!

I also have a four year old and I think its a stage they just go through because she has had nothing but attitude lately, but all you can do is when you say no make sure you stick to no. I have also took toys away and tried timeouts but never worked she didn't care. I have learned that she wants to be treated like a big girl, so I started a sticker chart and gave her a list of things to do daily for ex..listen to mommy and daddy, clean room, and etc...and I explained to her everytime she did those things she could put a sticker there and when she got so many I would let her pick one thing to have or do(inexpensive).hope this was useful, just try to make listening into a game...should help...

I just set her down with me making it together telling her what I want her to do and everytime she's does it she'll get to pick a sticker out to put on the board and when she gets so many stickers she'll get a reward. all the sticker board is made of is construction paper and let her decorate it, and make a new one weekly this will also give you and her one on one time.
