Since my children and grandkids live so far away I finally got a webcam. They all have them so I have been able to see and hear them but now they can see me too! Woo Hoo! My daughter in law came over and installed if for me but it was really easy to do so I could have done it but it was so nice of her! Now I can't wait to have video calls with them! How many of you have webcams? Do you use them to speak to others that live far away or when do you use them the most?

I have a webcam, we use it to take pics of the kids and send them to the grandparents. Grandma and Papa don't have one, we've talked about getting one but we see them at least once a year, but if we travel outside of the country we'll get them one too. I have friends who are missionaries, they were overseas when their grandchild was born but they communicated to the baby through the webcam. When they came to the states they got to see their grandchild and she kept touching their faces and making them turn their heads from side to side, she had seen them in one dimention only for so long she wanted to make sure it was them, it was cute. Good luck with your webcam, glad you have a media connection.

Oh wow! Please let us know if it works well.
I do not have a webcam for this computer unless the one I have, and never installed, will fit into the back of this computer which was for the previous computer. Don't know anything much about webcams. Our youngest daughter and her two kids aren't home much. She works full time and takes them with her so the only time we could do this is in the evening. Weekends she's gone alot with the kids and her husband also.

I am so happy that you got one! I have one, but I hardly ever used it. As a matter of fact I don't know where mine is right now. It is an older model and probably not compatible with my new computer. Well, I hope you have lots of fun using it and seeing your kids and grandkids!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I had a webcam one time and I never used it. I ended up selling it on ebay. I don't know anyone with a webcam so it wouldn't really do me any good to have one. I talked to my grandmother yesterday and she said she was thinking about getting one for her and my grandfather. My grandfather is a veteran and he lives at the VA (my grandmother can't take care of him by herself) and my grandmother lives at home and she wants something that they can see and talk to each other on the computer with. So she said she was really thinking about getting one. That way if she can't go up to the VA for a few days they can still talk and see each other on the webcam.

No I don't have a webcam, no use for it really. It would be cool to have one but I wouldn't ever really use it. I have a digital camera though, I have fun with that...it's more fun to take pictures on it than I thought. Plus I can send pictures to friends through the computer on it. I do have a small video camera that can be hooked up to the computer to send videos, we got it from Verizon after switching to them. It's nice but I have been barely using it. Congratulations, hope you enjoy having a webcam!

Hi Jill,
Next thing you know, we won't see you anymore cause you'll be too busy with kids and grandkids!! How exciting for you. I have a web cam but not hooked up. I think my hubby is using it on his laptop now that I think of it. Well you enjoy those kids and we'll see you when you're not too busy.

I have a Cam but i don't use it often, but i'm happy for ya.
It sucks when you live far away from the people you love, But thank the heavens for technology cause now you can live far away and still see the people you love.
Sure you can't physically interact with them, but hey atleast you can see them and they can see you.

Good day... One of the greatest achievement of today's technology is webcam. It really bridge people through out the globe. Imagine seeing your friend/family live in your computer miles away and best of all it is quite cheap.
One of the highlights of my days before going abroad is seeing my fiancee over the internet with a webcam.

I have a web cam too but I don't use it I did when I first got it I was so excited. I have been thru 4 computers and I just never did install it on this one. I still have it in case I need it again. Have a great time with yours and enjoy your family. I know you were thrilled to see grand baby.
