Another feeble attempt to convert

It seems that some people will stop at nothing to convert people to christianity. As I was surfing Youtube, I found this video that claimed they recorded the sound of hell and that it was real. The sounds sounded more like the recording at a sports event or a roller coaster ride or something. Here is the video, see for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gP29YVUBBQ&feature=related At the end they tell you to get saved, so to me it appears to be a scam to get people to convert. Which raises another question. Why is it so important to some christians to convert everybody? Why do they care what other people think and believe? Why can't they just let people live their lives and practice their religion. Why stoop so low just to gain followers? Isn't lying breaking one of the commandments? On the other hand, so is killing and we see how well that went in the bible. What do you think about such tactics to scare people into converting?

LMFAO I'd come across that a while back and laughed my behind off! Crazy isnt it, the lengths ppl will go..all for the possibility of a few brownie points....I think its just silly. Whats even sillier though is the fact that even though ppl like you or me KNOW its lying, they feel it isnt because of the reasoning behind it and how they justify their foolish behaviour... Same wiht those "Hell Houses" that pop up particularly around halloween...I feel ashamed for the ppl who create those and justify it..BUT to each his own I suppose ya know..

Yup, it's kinda like "whatever gets the job done" attitude lol. I wonder if they do realize, that this will turn people off, instead of making them convert.

The recording to which you are referring, Riptide, has been around for quite some time. I don't know where it originated from, but I do know that nobody could reasonably claim that it is indeed from hell(since nobody's been there and come back to earth). As for Christians trying to bring others into the fold, that is their responsibility if they follow the teachings of Christ. I'm not saying that they should pressure anyone, just open them up to receiving the Word. I have heard that recording many times, but never in the context of it being used to frighten people into converting to Christianity.

It's the first time I ever heard that recording and I am still trying to figure out what it is from, but I do know it's not from hell lol. I agree with christians witnessing to others, but pressuring, especially like this, is uncalled for.

That is how Christianity works. They have been doing it that way for years. Remember the crusades? Christians would kill people who did not forget their religious beliefs and convert to Christianity. That is how it spread. If they didn't kill people who did not convert, Christianity today would be a speck in the religious world if it existed at all. It is unethical to lie to someone to get them to convert to Christianity. The person who lies couldn't be considered a good Christian.

Yes, it is very unethical and I would think turns people off from the faith.

ROTFLMAO... and just when I was thinking things were getting boring around here. That's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. So I guess I'm suppose to be scared and run to church and convert over ASAP right LMAO. What I like to do when a lot of Christians tell me if I don't convert I'm going to hell is explain to them that we're already there. (Rev 12:9)And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. In other words Satan was cast from heaven and sent to dewll here on Earth.. so um this is hell.. (Rev 12:12)...Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Again... um I guess they overlooked that part. So why threaten folks with hell? We're already here. I mean I can see saying if you don't follow God you're gonna be stuck here, cause well this place sucks LMAO.

All the issues (and there are tons of them) in Christianity is what led me to seek my own answers. I did my research, looked into other belief systems, and eventually came to something that worked for me. FYI, -not- Christianity. What gets me is the stuff they claim to do.. be a kind, gentle caring people... Join the flock because we care.. join us because we're the kinder gentler group... But I've seen how they are when religion isn't foremost in their minds. They cheat on their spouses, beat their kids, drink like fish, swear at each other, run people off roads, and all manner of other vile actions (not necessarily that everyone of them does everyone one of those, or that all do, but a lot do), but then get all pious and holy and saintly when they try and convince you their way is much nicer. Nicer? If that's nicer, I don't want to see meaner. _

I seen meaner and it ain't pretty lol. They cheat on their spouses, beat their kids, drink like fish, swear at each other, run people off roads, and all manner of other vile actions Yes, but then they can say, the devil made them do it lol. Most christians I know, are sweet and kind and tolerant, but I seen some that would scare a jehova witness into hiding and those are the kinds that turn people away from their god.
