Adopting Cats

Hi there! I proudly adopted my second cat today; my first one passing on just a few days earlier. It's hard not having a cat in your life, you know? But that's besides the point. Her name is Sylvie and she's a female Siamese. (I think; I'm no expert, really!) She's got awful sharp claws and she's very affectionate. She's on the opposite side of my bed sleeping as I type. I'm a little worried about her; she hasn't been eating much and also has not used the litter pan, but she's full of energy. She'll ram right into you and bowl you over, then demand attention until she purrs. She sure is a great cat! Have any of you adopted a cat?

I just don't like cats so I am not even planning to adopt one there are not one of my favorate pets. I like dogs a lot and when I was still at home I used to have one but not any more.So I might not be helpfully if you need some advice about cats.

hi and yes i have. i adopted two boys. And on the 18th of this month I had buried my second lil boy. So now i have none. was your kitty checked out by a vet before you adopted her. Someone should of given you a clean bill of health, i was lucky with mine i got them from a vets office and they checked out all the babies there first. my lil tunnar(montana) was a beautiful maine (some word they wont let me use here) he was a large fluffy one, who used to ram into my legs all the time, i think its a way of loving you. It sounds like you will be a good mommy to her. Maybe call a vet up and see what they say. As for me i cannot adopt its too soon, i had my tunnar for 12 yrs. he got a herninated disc was put on predizone and got worse til he was dragging his legs and i think he had no feeling in his legs or tail. I am happy for you that you can go on. I am going to draw more pictures of my boys, and they have a special fabric photo paper you can get and im going to make a wall hanging of pics of them. i guess for me i dont want another cat right now, if i were to wish for something its that tunnar could be coming back to me and be his normal healthy self i wouldnt want to go through what we did before. good luck hon, and please have your baby checked out. hugs, Lish in ky
