Like everyone is saying, it is hard at first. But after a month or two it gets easier. Eventually as more months and practice goes by, when you play it's like second nature. Your fingers just flow.
But if you start... don't give up. Because in the future you can either be the wannabe guitarist, or the Guitarist everyone wants to be.

well, maybe it is not just for me. i tried learning when i was small, but i just can't learn it. i can play the piano. i enrolled in piano lessons when i was a small kid. then my older sister enrolled with guitar lessons and then the young me got curious, i wanted to try the guitar too. but i felt very frustrated. i just didn't learn it! :0

It was a nightmare when I picked up guitar 6 years ago too. My hands were aching so bad and my fingertips had blisters on it from all the pressure I had to exert on the strings. Now, I can play songs seamlessly and can even figure out the chords/riffs on whatever songs are on the radio.
But yea, have a little patience and determination and you'll sure to excel in whatever you do. Good Luck!
