My husband always have to have something different.
Instead of using milk in his coffee, he has to have half and half, so if there is no half and half he do not want the coffee.
Instead of just plain eggs, he has to have cheese in them.
Instead of eating a boiled hot dog, he has to have his grilled.
Instead of sausage links, he eats only patties.
Instead of drinking water, or a soft drink, or juice he has to have milk.
I like chocolate ice cream he will only eat vanilla.
Instead of wearing one pair of socks, he wears two, the bottom pair are tube socks, and the top one is his colored socks.
I can probably go on and on, but this is just an example.
So you see I spend more money than necessary just to satisfy his specific needs.
What's going on with you? I would like to hear, so I will know I am not alone

LOL
There are different things we all want at home. I am not sure how to keep serving one dinner for all of us when at least one of us will be unhappy.
And breakfast is sometimes each for man for himself. lol
So do not feel lonely, see these expenses as investments in making you both happy.

Thanks for your response. Good analogy too.
Most of the time I do not mind, but sometimes, I feel like saying, "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH MILK IN YOUR COFFEE".
Hope you have a great day.
