Being the coffee junkie that you are, would you pay $50 for a small cup of gourmet coffee? This gourmet coffee costs $600 per pound.Known as Kapeng Alamid in the Philippines and Kopi Luwak in Indonesia, this gourmet coffee is derived from the feces of a palm civet cat shown in the attached picture. The civet will only eat the choicest, and ripest coffee cherry beans which it excretes after several hours only undigested.Unable to digest, the proteins in the beans are broken down thereby removing the acidity of the coffee. The beans are collected and washed in pure spring water then dried in the sun before roasting. The digestive enzymes of the palm civet lend an interesting taste to the coffee. The result is a rich and strong aroma from a full-bodied coffee. It is thick with a hint of chocolate. It lingers on the tongue with a clean caramel aftertaste.Would you dare try it?

We've both tried the 'CAT-POOP-COFFEE" , AMP AND I HAVE BEEN ROASTING OUR OWN COFFEE FOR ABOUT 14 MONTHS NOW. WE GO THROUGH 5-6 LBS OF COFFEE A WEEK AND BUYING IT AT STARBUCKS WAS GETTING $$$$$$$, SO WE BOUGHT A ROASTER ON-LINE FOR ABOUT 225.00 BUY THE BEANS AT 3.00 PER POUND AND DEEP ROAST OUR OWN, THE ROASTER HAS PAID FOR ITSELF 5 TIMES OVER,SO IF YOUR A COFFEE HOUND LIKE US CHECK OUT THE ROASTER. I MYSELF LIKE MY COFFEE CRISP AND CLEAN,DARKER THE BETTER SO THE CIVET COFFEE JUST WASN'T FOR ME.BUON APPITETE

Thanks for your response.Having a roaster is a surefire way of satiating the coffee yearning. What better way to wake up than smelling the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee roasting right in your home. The best part is that the scent lingers and wakes the senses.Enjoy your cup or cups would be more accurate. :)

I might try it but I doubt that it would become a favorite of mine. It sounds too strange to me. I ahve heard of this coffee or one like it before and I always thought it sounded strange that people would pay good money for this stuff. You never know what people will think is good I guess in the moral of the story.
