new friend requests? , request from strangers.

hey guys m new to mylot..
And since i have joined i am getting friend requests from people dont know. Some are people with whom i have discussed some topics so i accepted those.. But some are like complete strangers. now my question to all u people is do accept everyine's and anyone's friends request on mylot or do you accept only people whom u know. And what is the star and rating thing in mylot. does it depend on friends or something/

You will always get friend request as long as you are active here on mylot...I just replied to a discussion just yesterday about how annoying it is to have people on your friend's list and when you start a discussion no one responds to it.I have at least 13 friend request pending and I don't approve nor deny them I just don't grant request any longer because what the use if they are going to just sit there on your friend's list and be idle anyway.Yes the star rating depends on mylot members rating your discussions and posts a plus sign rating determine the number thats on your star beside your username with ten being the highest and best star rating.

Ya u r right.. but how are we goin to know that who's gonna reply ur disussions or b idle.. It all varies from person to person.. And thanks a lot for giving me info about that star.. I was really not getting wht it signifies

Hey Richa, myLot is basically a site to meet new people, make friends and help each other if possible. We are here to discuss events that take place around the world, or someone's problem whether personal or of a community as a whole.
There's no harm in accepting friend requests of strangers as they are just inviting you to be a part of their group or to achieve transparency in their discussions. Having a big friend circle at this place is also to earn better as you come across better topics of discussion and also you come to know new things going on around the world.
As far as the star over one's profile pic. is concerned, it is a measurement of one's contribution to a topic. It is decided by members itself when they rate someone's reply. Its not a very effectice method though.
So, am sending you a friend request, hop you accept it.

hmm you are right.. I dont know what thought process was goin in my mind wen i thot of that.. i mean we are here on mylot to talk to people and interact.. And after that post of urs i guess i shud accep ur request right? hehe

Basically everyone is a stranger, unless they are someone you personally referred, or a relative or friend that you knew before mylot. It shouldn't be a problem excepting friends requests. You think that because someone answered one of your discussions, they are no longer a stranger?
You will get a star after you reach 100 posts, then you can see your rating in which the highest is a blue star with 10.

u are right that everbody is a stranger over heeree.. but i just wanted to know that if i accept someone whoz a not a nice guy or gal or someone with whom i dont think i can continue anything further then can i delete that person? and do u accept all the friend requests that u get? btw thanks 4 lettn me know abt that star

Hi richa_devale, Mylot is a site for making friends. As for the strangers part you are on net, and anyone is a stranger here. For me I accept any friend request that comes my way. The rating system is to denote the activity of a mylotter and it is dependent on friends as many friends go through all discussions you started and post responses. Also having more friends means more activity, which counts on mylot

You are right.. Somehow i dont know y but i was thinking that how can i accept unknown ppl as my friends? i mean thats not safe, this was what i was thinking. But that is all mylot is about. i mean here we all are stangers yet discuss our problems,share our knowledge ,experiences with each other, then god knows from where this question of accepting a friends request or not came.. hehe. .i was thinking a bit weird. .
