Is it okay for my fiance to live in my house after we get married?

Hi guys,I have acquired a condo unit that was just turned over to me last July, but still paying at the moment. My fiance, however, without any knowledge of the condo unit I owned asked me to marry him. Is it okay for my fiance to live with me after our marriage? Would it look bad? Should we get another property to live in and just rent-out my condo? Should we share the payment or should I shoulder the payment of the unit myself as a safety net for me just in case things don't work out between us? Any suggestions or advice would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!!!!D

I do not see why he wouldn't move in with you. Someone has to move, and since you have the condo, I think it would be the place for him to move. After you get married, you both become responsible for the bills. Yes, he should pay somthing towards your condo, if he wasn't there he would have to pay somewhere else. I do not know what the distribution laws are in your country if a marrige breaks up, but in the US, any property that was yours before the marriage is always going to be yours. If you had a house before the marriage the house is yours, if you had a car the car is yours. The only things that are in question are the things that were bought together after the marriage. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

Thank you for your great advise Sudalunts. My question may be a simple one, but nevertheless will become a problem if a person doesn't understand the "law". As we all know, "ignorance of the law excuses no one". Your advise had opened my eyes regarding the importance of pre-nuptial agreements and such....
